While some can use black current as a replacement, I have been taking this on top of of my 1400 mg of fish oil. I have not noticed any adverse side effects, but I do not agree that this is without scent. There is an unpleasant aroma to this bottle, though it’s not the same as fish oil. These capsules are slightly longer, but skinnier than the other gels I take, making them a bit easier to swallow, especially alongside several others at a time. A great advantage to this form of omega 3 is the lack of fish burps. I don’t get those with my current alaskan variety, but I have certainly experienced it with others in the past.I do not know the percentage of omega 3/fatty acids that these contain. I can say that this is comparable in price to the one I buy, but with only half the supply and a smaller overall dosage. So far I have not noticed any crazy difference since I started the supplement, but the last few months have been quite rough, and my body has been going through more pain and trauma than normal. The fact that I don’t feel worse than I do may be a testament to this being an effective addition, but it’s truly difficult to say at this point. This is my first time with any black currant oil, and I wouldn’t mind trying it again.It may not generally be advisable to take this on top of a high dose of fish oil. I have read that this can cause nausea and lower your blood pressure/ability to form clots. I have not noticed any increase, as someone who already experiences chronic daily nausea. While I do not typically have high blood pressure, I do experience a lot of anxiety which causes spikes. While I have not, it’s always best to check with your doctor, especially the more you have going on.We have used several nutricost supplements in our home. This one was 17 for 120 servings, and while more cost effective than many options on amazon, there are also cheaper varieties, for larger doses, and higher quantities.

The supplement is a softgels capsule with liquid inside instead of a powder. The softgels are smooth and a little larger than I expected. The softgels are about an inch long. I did not detect any scent or order from the softgels. According to the description and the bottle label this product is marked as being Third party tested, it is NSF Certified, and it is made in a GMP Compliant, FDA Registered Facility. The label also states that the supplements are Non-GMO. Both the lot number and an expiration date are marked on the bottom of the bottle. The expiration date is listed as being 05/2029, indicating a long shelf life for the product. As far as supplements go I feel like the value for the money is average. I researched some of the health benefits that may occur by taking Black Currant Oil and decided to give it a try. I haven’t been taking the gel caps long enough to comment on how beneficial it has been to my health. On the plus side I haven’t had any adverse effects. So, I will probably reorder another bottle before this bottle is gone.
