They are largely odorless as well.I compared them with the Super Enzymes that I use from a competing brand. Right off the bat, I learned that the enzymes used in this formulation were all derived from non-animal sources. For vegans, this is a huge plus.It took some effort converting the units used between the two products, such as HUT, DU and GDU to the more commonly used USP units for animal derived enzymes (these units do not measure quantity, but potency, as in how easily/quickly these enzymes break down stuff). When I did I was quite surprised. 1 DU translates to roughly 48 USP for Amylase. the 40000 DU included in each serving of these is the equivalent of almost 2 million USP of Amylase. By comparison my usual brand of digestive enzymes has only 37000 USP worth of Amylase.This formulation has about 300000 HUT worth of protease. 1 HUT is roughly 6.5 USP, which means the 300000 HUT of protease in this formulation is about, once again, 2 million worth of USP of protease. The other brand of enzyme I use only have 37000 USP of protease per serving. The difference in potency is huge.Overall this proteolytic enzyme is easy to swallow. It is formulated from non-animal sources, and more importantly, is a lot more potent than the cheaper animal-based alternative I typically use. At its current selling price it’s a very decent value for the money. I am happy to recommend it for anyone looking for a vegan based digestive enzyme, or just a high potency digestive enzyme in general.
