I use this pattern turmeric to make my all natural anti-inflammatory mixture and it works great. I got all the ingredients here at Amazon because you can buy them in bulk and they’re a whole lot cheaper than getting them at the grocery store or Walmart or even Sam’s for that matter because all the ingredients are here at AMAZON and they’re not at Sam’s I’ve looked. They might have coconut oil, but they don’t have the turmeric not vocal like this so thank you AMAZON for having such a great selection for us to choose from so I can make my homemade anti-inflammatory because I’m a rheumatoid arthritis patient and believe me my homemade recipe is way better than being on steroids that give you bad side effects make you gain weight and make it where you can’t sleep for a week. It sucks totally sucks. I hate it but my new recipe and that I found I’ve actually tweaked it and made it so much better and I added cinnamon to it that I also bought through Amazon in bulk and it taste phenomenal. Oh my gosh, so amazing and I found a cheap trick when you bring it up to a boil I throw it into the KitchenAid mixer so that way you can stir in all the ingredients for about 5 to 7 minutes and when it starts getting you know how to a abolish mixture I turned it up so that way, I can definitely mix in together, but always remember when using a turmeric product you have to add black pepper to it to activate the turmeric. Otherwise you’re throwing your money out the window always remember that turmeric will not be activated unless you add black pepper to it and you cannot taste it. I could literally put my recipe online, but I’ll literally do that in a podcast and put the recipe online and maybe get a couple of dollars out of it. Why not I literally tweak the recipe and made it mine so I might just do that but anyway a wonderful product thank you AMAZON for having such great such a great and wide variety of things for us to order.

Really good Nutricost turmeric
Nutricost Organic Turmeric Root Powder has become a regular staple in my kitchen, and I have to say I’m impressed. I’ve bought a bunch of Nutricost products over the years, everything from their vitamins to other cooking powders, and I keep coming back to this brand because they consistently deliver high quality at a price that doesn’t make me wince. This turmeric is no exception. I’ve been using it daily, both blended into my morning smoothies in my Vitamix blender and as a core spice in my regular Indian cooking, and it’s held up really well on both fronts.Since I already cook a lot of Indian food, I have a pretty good baseline for what good turmeric should taste and smell like, and this stuff holds its own against what I normally pick up at the Indian grocery store. Honestly, I can’t tell much of a difference in how it performs once it hits the pan. The one thing I did notice is that the Nutricost turmeric has a noticeably stronger aroma than my grocery store turmeric, though in fairness my grocery store batch has been sitting around for a while at this point, so that’s probably more about freshness than anything else. Taste-wise, it’s very slightly more bitter, but not in a way that’s off-putting. If anything, that little extra bitterness lines up with turmeric being fresher, since the bitterness is more pronounced when it hasn’t lost potency over time, especially once you use a good amount of it and temper it in oil with your other spices the way you would for most Indian dishes.I’ve made several dinners and lunches with this turmeric so far and everything has turned out great. No off flavors, no weird texture issues, nothing that made me think twice about switching over from my usual brand from the grocery store. It blends into smoothies cleanly too, without turning gritty or clumping up, which isn’t always a given with turmeric powder. As far as value goes, this is where Nutricost really shines. A 2 lb container is a huge amount of turmeric for the price, and between my smoothies and daily Indian cooking, I can tell this jar is going to last me a long, long time. For the cost per ounce, it’s hard to beat, and it’s another reason why Nutricost has earned a spot as one of my go-to brands for spices and supplements. Love the deep yellow color!

High quality turmeric
I like to use turmeric for two things – I drink it in a tea (w/a dash of black pepper) and when I make Indian dishes. I used to buy fresh turmeric from my Asian food store and grate it fresh and loved the mild, fresh taste BUT there were two significant downsides. The staining of everything – my quartz countertops, anything the product touched like the cutting board, dishes, etc. was terrible. Also, it would get kind of lost in the refrigerator if I forgot so I’d say I wasted about 60% of it every couple of weeks. So for me, the powder is just better. I was hoping to maximize the health benefits but it’s not worth the staining or waste.This huge gallon size of tumeric is an incredible value and I feel like I should be opening up an Indian restaurant.OBSERVATIONS:-taste wise for my Indian dishes – the Vindaloo and Tikka Masala – tasted great, very potent and as good as the little 2/4 ounce jars I’ve been buying in the past-color is that nice bright saffron dark shade-The ingredient is pure turmeric and it’s 100% organic which I love. Turmeric is a root so this is one of those things where it’s nice if you know it’s organicA really great value, great spice, huge container. Nutricost does a great job w/offering their products with quality ingredients at a great price point. I hope I can use up most of this but even if I use only 1/10th of this jar, it would still be worth it in terms of cost effectiveness.P.s. tip for others – you may want to vacuum seal the unused portion

First off, I LOVE turmeric powder! Not just for cooking and adding to food, but for all the many health benefits turmeric has to offer. If you haven’t looked into it, look it up! 😉 In my opinion, there are absolutely no negatives to turmeric!The Nutricost Organic Turmeric Root Powder is fantastic. This 2 pound container is HUGE! My husband actually laughed when he saw the size of it, but he and I both use turmeric daily, so he knows it will definitely get used! 😂 With over 450 servings, this container is going to last us a very long time.I absolutely trust Nutricost, which is another reason I was happy to order and review this. I also love that it’s organic. If it’s not organic, don’t get it! The ingredient list is about as simple as it gets: turmeric and that’s it! No unnecessary fillers or added ingredients. I do want to add though that it says the flavor is “unflavored”. It’s definitely NOT unflavored so I’m not sure why they would add that.The price for over 450 servings is absolutely fantastic, especially if you use it every day. Deep color with a familiar turmeric flavor
My parents use a lot of spices as part of our East African cooking, and turmeric is important in many of our traditional dishes. Since they know the spice well, I had them use this powder in the same kinds of dishes they normally make.On its own, this turmeric has a deeper, richer color than the container we already had in the cabinet. The aroma seemed about the same to me, though this one may have smelled a little fresher. That comparison is not entirely even because our other turmeric had already been open for some time.In our food, the flavor was every bit as good as our usual turmeric, but the difference was not dramatic. It might be easier to notice in something simple like a shake, but in a seasoned dish it blended in much like the turmeric we already use.Pros:1. Deep, rich color2. Fresh aroma3. For supplement products, due to the fact that they are so unregulated in the US, I always like to check for a few things like is there any information about where it was manufactured, any information about 3rd party testing and how many capsules, scoops or servings per recommended daily dose to translate to a total number of doses instead of just overall count.This product is made in the US and states that it is 3rd party tested in an NSF certified facility. Nutricost is a pretty well known company so it should be fairly reliable but as always it would be nice if certificates of analysis were available directly on the page.The serving sizes are a 2g scoop which gives 454 servings per container. Turmeric is supposed to be very good for inflammation and health with incorporating it into smoothies, “golden tea” recipes and other options. It can be very staining so I would say be careful getting it on anything. Other than that this is quite reasonable for anyone looking to increasing their intake for health or other food purposes.
