The BEST L-Lysine Powder I’ve Used
I use L-Lysine, in general, as an immune booster for my cats, and for other cats in the rescue I volunteer for. It works!This is my favorite L-Lysine product because of level of quality, and because of the fine grain that this product comes in.We had always used this brand, but last time I tried the NOW brand L-Lysine powder because I like trust that brand as well as this one, and their price was lower. It was a mistake. That stuff was SO thickly grained. I won’t ever deviate from this NutraBio brand again, because this is the only brand that has the L-Lysine powder as an actual very fine grain powder. Other brands have a much rougher grain, and it doesn’t stick to the kibbles as well.I use this product every day, sprinkled onto my cats dry food. Because it is as fine as dust, it sticks really well to my cat’s food and therefore they get more of it per bite, and I don’t end up wasting any because it doesn’t stick and falls to the bottom of the bowl.It’s worth the extra price!

Great product, wouldn’t go without lysine now
Back in the mid 90s, I took lysine for about 2 years, 500mg/day, and noticed that I stopped getting fever blisters. No outbreaks at all. And I used to get honkers. So big that my husband would give them names, “Oh, are you and Chuck going out for awhile?” Funny.After I didn’t have them for a few years, I laid off for a couple of years, taking it now and then, and still no outbreaks. Then in the last 5 years, I got maybe 4, not even one a year, but they never came to fruition: just a bump for a day or two, then went away.Then a couple of months ago, I got some to give to the stray kittens for their eye infections, so we started taking it again. We put it in our breakfast mix (cottage cheese and flax seed oil ala Budwig). It’s tasteless, don’t even know it’s there.There is some evidence that cancer can be based in a virus and lysine is definitely anti-viral. It’s so easy to take and no evidence that it can hurt, so it’s again part of our routine and we’re very glad to have it back! The kittens were very healthy when we took them to the no-kill shelter 🙂

Sticks to kibble better than other brands
So far it seems to be working as well as the prior brand, Bulk Supplements, in reducing FHV symptoms in my cat, but what I like better is that this is a fine powder. Bulk Supplements’ lysine, as well as other top contenders I looked at (and scoured reviews for this info for) are more like fine granules. They fall to the bottom of the bowl too easily, and the cat can pull the pieces of kibble out to reduce the amount of lysine ingested. This still happens to an extent with the fine powder, but more of it sticks than with the other brand, especially if you roll the kibble around in it. I cannot feed wet food, so this is the only option I have. And I wasn’t willing to try putting it in water – adequate hydration is SO important in cats, and if it changed the flavor or texture of the water at ALL, I know she’d drink less of it. Not worth the risk. For now, this has kept it in check despite her being on two immunosuppressive drugs. Hopefully it continues to help; I’ll update if it doesn’t, though.

Great for my sanctuary cats & donate to shelter cats
I sprinkle this in my cats dry food and they still eat it so that is great! I have also donated this to shelter cats as they have a lot of colds going around that spread throughout. The shelter asked for more to be donated after they used it, so I am pleased. This is a decent price.I can’t say 100% that it is actively stopping infections because Im in a multi-cat household where I am not able to watch each individual cat and how much they are eating…but this is llysine in a form that makes it easy for me to provide my cats with extra supplements they need. Highly recc for pet owners…and people who have cats with FIV/FELV. I researched before I bought this to make sure it didnt have anything extra in it that could potentially be harmful for my cats. I suggest you do the same when searching for any pet products.

This item arrived just as described. I have been taking this supplement now for a week in combination with Nature Target Multi Collagen Peptides and Glutamine without any side effects. I can truly say that I am resting better and my muscle tone and definition is showing improvement. So far, I am pleased with my combination and hopeful for more and better benefits.

Mixes easily and works well
I bought this to help feral cats I feed who had a cold. It worked well and they recovered in a couple of weeks. It easily mixes with wet food and doesn’t put off the cats from the food.Would recommend.

I’m giving 4 stars bc i haven’t had this for long enough to say how it works. But I will say that it’s a really big container and one scoop is tiny, so this will last awhile. It has a slight taste but can be diluted or mixed into something to cover the taste. Dissolves nicely.
