Far better than I could have imagined for heartburn
See bottom for update. This stuff is amazing. I have had bad heartburn and acid reflux for years and now feel like a new person because of DGL. I am including some backstory to help you understand how bad this was for me. I have been taking 20mg Omeprozole/Prilosec (I also tried the same dosage with Nexium for a while) for somewhere around 15 years, on the advice of my primary doctor. It relieved a fair amount of heartburn, but not completely. I tried weaning off Prilosec numerous times over the past 10 years but found it too painful. I would often be taking extra zantac/ranitidine, pepto, tums daily, on top of Prilosec. If I was sleeping, I would often wake up choking and gagging and eventually get sick because the back of my throat was filled with stomach acid. It was a horrible feeling, and had to learn how to sleep with my upper body elevated. I followed all the usual doctor recommendations such as avoiding spicy/acidic/fatty foods, foods that specifically flared up heartburn, eating smaller portions, adjust posture, not eating later in the evening, etc. Following those recommendations didn’t provide any noticeable benefit.A few years ago I had 2 expensive surgeries done in an attempt to fix the problem; repairing both a hernia and also my stomach valve. That helped with about 85% of the regurgitation, but a little would still escape my stomach now and then. The surgery improved my quality of life, and I could now sleep more soundly at night, and no longer needed to be elevated. However, I still needed to take Prilosec since the surgeries did not actually fix the heartburn. Every other day I would also need to take a zantac or swig of Pepto or some other aid. Primary doctor continued to tell me all the same old things – stay on prilosec, dont eat spicy foods, blah blah blah. I took it upon myself to try a carbohydrate restricted diet with less sugar and wheat/oats, and found it had a moderate impact. I still needed Prilosec every day, but no longer required help from other antacids.Ok, backstory over. I stumble upon DGL. I started taking 2 pills a day (I know suggestion size is only 1), one in the morning and another at night. A few days after starting DGL I took a chance and dropped Prilosec cold turkey. Heartburn is almost completely gone! Occasionally I may feel a very slight burning sensation, but it never seems to escalate beyond that. For over 10 years I have not been able to drink beer without massive antacid prevention before drinking and then afterward and still would feel miserable and bloated. I can now have a huge mug of beer without taking anything. If you have chronic heartburn and want to avoid or wean off from PPI’s, this might just do the trick.I know I sound like a snake oil salesman when I say this, but I am truly a new person because of this product.Update. I have been on this product for about a month and a half, taking 1 pill in the morning and another in the evening. This took care of the worst of the heartburn. Due to issues with how my throat muscles swallow (food gets stuck sometimes because it is not being pushed down properly), the stomach surgery could not fully tighten the valve so I still get the occasional regurgitation. While on DGL the heartburn would not be as intense and would not last nearly as long as before. A swig of Pepto once a day or every other would take care of most remaining heartburn well enough. Even with pretty extreme stomach issues, I am still off Prilosec/Zantac/Ranitidine and chewable antacids since starting this product so I still stand by my 5 star review. A few weeks ago I decided to also add Slippery Elm (Now brand, 400mg). After some testing I found that 2 pills in the morning and 1 in the evening make any regurgitation even easier to deal with. This combo of DGL and Slippery Elm is seriously amazing.

Great for gastritis!
I used to take a proton pump inhibitors to deal with stomach irritation due to a gluten sensitivity. Taking them for several years wreaked havoc on my digestive system by changing my gut flora, causing a bacterial overgrowth that I had to spend over a year dealing with. I was taking DGL tablets which I did not enjoy as I do not like the flavor of licorice. These tablets helped but not like these pills. I was doubtful that one pill would work for a whole day but these have been great so far. The bloating and discomfort I used to have due to irritation is gone. I still need to be mindful of what I eat but for the most part I feel normal again in the digestion department. These have been life changing for me, allowing me to live life again without constant worrying of when I will have to deal with gut irritation and its side effects.

wow.. I didn’t think it would work but wow
Honestly I got these on a whim just to try them out. The first week of taking them daily I didn’t really notice any changes. But after the first week I realized that I had not needed to take any heartburn relief tabs (Tums, Rolaids, Antisid, etc) after lunch or at bedtime. I do not like taking medications so was intrigued by the idea of a natural way to alleviate heartburn. I stopped taking Tagamet years ago. modifying my diet and popping an Antisid tablet now and then has worked for the most part. But since taking one of these licorice capsules daily, I rarely find myself reaching for an Antisid. I call that a win!!These are also great because they are all natural ingredients. And you get 200 days worth in one bottle!

After years of suffering from GERD, Acid Reflux and even having ulcers and esophageal varices – I was on Omeprazole.First 1 a day then twice a day. I had maybe 3 times I suffered a little heartburn so I used 1 tums in that instance. Problem solved. I have not had one time like years ago where I would lay awake in bed with severe pain – crying thinking I was having a heart attack – or severe heart burn. Digestion is actually much better and no super gassy issues either !!I am SUPER grateful for this product !! I may in the future think of dropping to 1 pill a day but for right now I will not mess with a good thing. True feelings about DGL so far!!!! Beyond excited!..
I bought this back in April, but, never used it cause, I got scared all of the sudden from the negative reviews. Then Ranitidine (300MG) got pulled from the pharmacy I was ordering from. I was Suffering from heart burn and tried every natural remedy including cutting way back on eating at dinner. My heart burn was still SO strong, I couldn’t think. I decided to try the DGL Licorice 3800MG….OMG, I honestly can’t believe it! This stuff REALLY works. Granted, I have taken it for only 4 days now, but, I can’t believe it, it’s truly amazing! I don’t know about any side effects or heart racing ( like I read) SO far AMAZING. I had to write something….I hope the miracle continues with me and helps you to out there. Acid reflex could be the worst, I remember when I was delivering my baby, 27 years ago, the nurses asked me, are you ready for the Apidural shot, I said forget that, give me something for my heartburn, true story! Heart burn could be up there with migraines in term of discomfort and evil!!!! Thank you DGL, Where were you all these years? I hope it continues to help us all….

Greatly reduced my nightly acid reflux attacks
I take one capsule every night at dinner and it seems to help with my acid reflux issues. I have had severe acid reflux (GERD) for years and have tried many different medicines, but was always wary of the side effects when used long term. When I ran out of my PPI pills I order a bottle of these. After about a week of use they seemed to improve my nightly attacks, and now after using them for a while I don’t worry so much about being awaken in the middle of the night with that horrible burning and gagging sensation. Of course I still have to watch what I eat but I feel like this has been very beneficial. I have not had any of the heart racing issues that some others have noted.

Worked great on my acid reflux however it spiked my blood pressure
This product worked great on my acid reflux symptoms however after five days of taking it my blood pressure went through the roof. I have been taking my blood pressure everyday for years and it went from approx 120/75 to 155/100. I almost went to the urgent care as I wasn’t sure what was going on … then I read some prior reviews from customers that had the same experience. I immediately stopped taking this product and within a few days my blood pressure was right back to normal. I have to conclude since this was the only change I made in my routine that it must have been the cause of my BP spike. Perhaps this only effects a few of us …. not sure but if you take it I would advise that you closely monitor any changes in your blood pressure.
