    Great Energy Booster for Over-40 Crowd BUT Long-Term Users Should Remember to Monitor Iron Levels

    I really like these liver caps for a good energy boost; they really help me “keep going,” even when the going gets tough (too many things to do, too little time). They help support liver function, give a nice small dose of iron to the system, and contain both eleuthero (Siberian ginseng) and defatted liver powder. Milk thistle (80% silymarin), an herb which supports healthy liver function, is also added to help improve your body’s own natural liver cleansing mechanisms. Online research of silymarin will teach you more.These are just an occasional-use supplement for me–I use them on an as-needed basis, simply because I need to be a little cautious about overloading on iron (a genetic issue). If you’re a pre-menopausal woman, this shouldn’t be a concern for you. Men need to approach iron supplementation slightly cautiously, as well, as iron overload is a primary cause of oxidative stress in the body. HOWEVER, there are many, many Americans who are anemic or have lower than normal iron levels, so my best “advice” is to do as I do: at the very least, do an annual blood test to monitor your nutritional status and do some cursory internet research to learn what healthy iron levels are for your age and gender. If you don’t eat much red meat, you could probably GREATLY benefit from these liver caps at the label-recommended dosage levels.These are easy to take capsules; the label recommendation is for 2 capsules, 1 to 3 times a day. Speaking only for myself, I can say I feel a real surge of energy and motivation when I take these–my overall health state is excellent, but this helps add a little something my diet may be missing–I use it to “fill in the blanks,” now and again, when I’ve gone a week or so without red meat or feel that I need just a little extra boost of energy to attack chores with a bit more gusto. Highly recommended for its quality (Argentine defatted beef liver, silymarin, AND eleuthero) and its energy-producing effect!—-Have a question about this supplement?     Always read the ingredients

    My General MD recommended a “liver cleanse” due to labs, showing a “fatty liver.” I looked up the available options, and each one had “herbal elements” that I am allergic to. This one had the beef liver, milk thistle, and root only, which I can handle. The Beef liver adds an iron element, which I also need. Milk Thistle is the liver cleanser, and this is also what I needed, and nothing more. The inactive ingredients natural and does not include the unwanted magnesium stearate nor the titanium dioxide.

    Excellent supplement

    I love that this has a little more than just dandelion root in it. My husband and I both take this, have probably had our share of alcohol in the past and both of our livers are great. Blood work within normal limits and We feel great on these.
