I have been taking Acetyl-l-carnitine for awhile for general health and heart health. I have been a vegetarian since I was 16 so I don’t get much, if any, carnitine from dietary sources. When I was in Graduate school my Biochemistry professor did an entire lecture on carnitine and drilled into our heads how important it was for the body and told us that vegetarians MUST take a supplement for healthy heart function. I had never taken one before that but I did start afterwards (and have ever since). Our bodies can produce some carnitine with high enough amounts of vitamin C. This acetyl-l form is best for the brain and has shown promise for people with neurodegenerative diseases. But it also is great for general health, mitochondrial function and muscle health. I like this brand, I have purchased from them previously and I have always been very satisfied with the quality of their products. This is a bottle of 90 capsules and the dose is 1 capsule (500mg), once daily. I take it with the rest of my vitamins and I have no trouble swallowing the capsule with water and a few of my other supplements at the same time. I think carnitine is one of those supplements that can benefit anyone, there’s tons of scientific references in the literature going back a long time detailing its efficacy for a variety of different uses and concerns. I definitely recommend this brand and this supplement.

Good Quality Acetyl L-Carnitine Supplement
Although these capsules are easy to swallow, tasteless and produce no aftertaste, after using them for several days, personally I have noticed no uptick in my energy levels, unlike when taking L-carnitine supplementation in liquid form. Regardless, the capsules are high purity, 500 mg per serving, and free from unnecessary fillers.

I’m glad to have this L-carnitine to add to my health routine. This is the first time we’ve gotten L-Carnitine from Nootropics Depot, but we’ve been getting other products from them for a while now. They’re really consistent in quality, and I like that all their products are independently lab tested for quality and ingredient ratios.Given the number of illnesses (including long covid) that have been linked to mitochondrial damage, L-Carnitine was an easy choice, as it’s been shown to help support the “Powerhouse of the Cell.”So far, there hasn’t been any noteworthy change day-to-day, but I hope this will be an important part of flu season – keeping things from progressing into more serious forms of illness that can happen.As a non-physician, my opinions don’t hold weight, but in my experience, I’m happy to have it, and it’s been good.

This is a general health supplement. The gist is L-carnitine helps your body convert fat to energy and your body produces it naturally but this slows down with age. Acetyl L-carnitine (ALCAR) is a derivative (that your body can also convert as needed from L-carnitine) which has extra uses in the brain, where it can cross the blood-brain barrier and provide cognitive support.For me, I am older, active in the gym, and very interested in cognitive support, so this supplement ticks a lot of boxes.Nootropics Depot is definitely a great place to get it—one of the most trusted names in the nootropics and supplements space with some of the most rigorous in-house lab testing. Most of the supplements I buy with my own money come from Nootropics Depot. This has been no exception, I’ve been happy with the quality.I take this in the morning before breakfast.
