Came in a fully safety sealed (around cap and under lid) 240 softgel plastic bottle. Bottle was bar coded and stamped with lot ID and expiration date of 11/18/2028. Labeling indicates product is third party lab tested, in a GMP facility, non GMO, and Halal. Inspection did not reveal any off odors, scents or appearance. Instructions state to take one softgel daily preferably with a meal.Each serving delivers 1000 mg of Antarctic krill oil – 250 mg of omega 3 fatty acids, 200 mg of phospholipids, and 400 mg of astaxanthin. I personally did lot experience any adverse or allergic reactions or any digestive issues using this product. I will update this review should I experience any tangible effects whether positive or negative.

Naturevol is an excellent choice of Krill Oil. They are manufactured in a certified GMP facility, and tested for metals. Krill Oil from the Antarctic
While krill oil has a lower concentration of omega-3 fats, they are more easily integrated into the cell membrane than are fish oil because of there phospholipid content, improving there efficacy. They are also high in astaxanthan and this also helps keep the fats from oxidizing. Since krill are lower on the food chain and harvested in the antarctic, there is much less risk of accumulation of environmental toxins as compared to fish oil.Biting into them, they are oily and taste a little like shrimp-shell broth. The flavor is not nice, but not terrible, mostly oily. The odor is moderate, and similarly not pleasant nor especially objectionable. The smell is likely capsule material.I took off one star as these lack MSC (Marine Stewardship Council) certification labeling. This is important to show that they were sustainably harvested under international conservation agreements and not illicitly sourced by scoundrels.

Lessens the fishy burp smell of fish oil
I have been taking 1000 milligrams of fish oil daily for a long time now. I had heard that krill oil causes less of those fishy smelling burps so I thought I would give this a try. It seems to be a pretty straight across swap being that it has 1000 milligrams of krill oil. The main difference from the fish oil I was taking to this is the omega-3 content. The fish oil I was taking included 300 milligrams of omega-3 while this has 250 milligrams of omega-3. That is close enough that I figure it will work just as well for me. My understanding is that fish oil has a higher concentration of omega-3 than krill oil does so that probably explains the difference. The size of the soft gells is pretty much exactly the same for both and I don’t notice any difference when taking them with the exception that, as promised, they don’t seem to produce as smelly of burps as the fish oil occasionally did. Overall, I am happy with them and feel like they will be a good substitute for my fish oil.My philosophy is that, for a rating system to be effective, the highest rating and the lowest rating should be reserved for a relatively small percentage of the best and the worst products. I DON’T take into consideration prices or issues with shipping. I stick to a fair and honest evaluation of the product itself. Following is each of the five categories of *stars* and how I assign them to a product:***** Five stars – Exceeded my expectations. I really love it!**** Four stars – Met my expectations.
