I’ve been looking for ways to give my respiratory system a little extra support, and Nature’s Secret Respiratory Support & Defense caught my attention because this isn’t just a basic single-ingredient supplement.The first thing that stood out to me was the 600 mg of NAC per daily dose. NAC is particularly interesting because it helps the body produce glutathione, an important antioxidant, and it’s also known for helping support healthy mucus clearance.But the NAC is only part of the formula. This supplement also contains mullein, marshmallow, fenugreek, licorice, watercress, thyme, garlic, onion, cayenne and several other botanicals, so there’s quite a bit packed into these tablets.I also like that this is something I can simply add to my daily routine. There’s no powder to mix, no strange-tasting liquid and no need to juggle several different herbal supplements just to get a variety of ingredients.And since I bought two bottles of 60 tablets, I have 120 tablets total, which works out to a 60-day supply at the recommended four tablets per day. That’s a nice amount of time to actually give a supplement like this a fair try.One thing I definitely wouldn’t do is expect this to magically cure a respiratory condition or replace medication. I look at it more as nutritional support for the respiratory system, and I think that’s a much more realistic way to approach a product like this.If you’re looking for a respiratory-support supplement and particularly like the idea of having NAC combined with a broad selection of botanicals, I think this is definitely worth trying.

My Lungs Definitely Feel Clearer
I wanted to try this because I like the combination of NAC, mullein and the other herbal ingredients included in the formula. I have taken NAC before, but I liked having it combined with several other beneficial ingredients rather than taking everything separately. Since I started taking these, I have definitely noticed that my lungs feel clearer and I feel like I am breathing a little easier, which has been a very noticeable difference for me. The tablets have agreed with me and I haven’t had any stomach upset or other issues from taking them. Everyone can respond differently to supplements, but I have been very pleased with how this one has worked for me so far and plan to continue taking it.

Helps contribute to a more resilient respiratory system
During the late Summer and early Fall, my respiratory system often seems to get more sensitive as the weather changes. I saw this and decided to order it. The dose recommended on the bottle is pretty aggressive: 2x pills 2x a day. So for this pack of 120 pills, it will last one person 30 days. At about $30 at the time of writing this review, that’s a dollar a day.That being said, the ingredients are tailored exactly for respiratory health. N-Acetyl-L-Cysteine helps your body make a solid anti-oxidant to fight cell damage and clear lung mucous. This is the heavy lifter in this supplement. The other ingredients, such as Licorice, Cayenne, Fenugreek, and other powders are also great for respiratory support, but they are such small amounts and more cheaply available elsewhere. See the other additional ingredients as a bonus.The N-Acetyl-L-Cysteine included in here is the star of the show, and considering that, this Nature’s Secret supplement is a decent value. After taking this for several days, we both have noticed a more resilient throat and I feel much more comfortable at night. Overall, this is a well-formulated supplement for respiratory support

I am more interested in taking Nature’s Secret Respiratory support in about 2 months during this winter when I usually develop mild asthma (thanks to the extreme dryness of the air, I think) than I am in taking it right now. Currently I don’t need respiratory support. Regardless, I started taking this supplement a couple of weeks ago for the sake of testing it. Nature’s Secret is a brand I trust already as it is a division of Irwin Naturals which makes good performing supplements I have been taking for years.So far, this supplement has not produced any noticeable results either positive or negative. I didn’t really expect any currently. I DO expect results later due to the NAC and also because of the fenugreek, marshmallow and thyme. When I was a kid my mom used to make a me a nasty tea out of these herbs anytime I had respiratory issues and it did actually help get rid of my mucus. Too bad she didn’t know about NAC.This supplement does not have much of a smell other than a little vitaminish. I have not experienced any side effects from taking this supplement. The bottles arrived wrapped and safety sealed. The boxes and the bottles are clearly stamped on the bottom with the lot number and expiration date. The ingredients are clear on the box and the bottle label. The pills are not overly large, have a slight matte finish and I have had no problems swallowing them.I’m looking forward to giving these a really good trial by fire this winter.

Reliable Respiratory Boost with NAC + Botanicals
I picked this up mainly for the NAC, and it delivers on that. The 600 mg daily dose is solid and seems to help with mucus and general respiratory comfort. The rest of the herbal blend is nice to see on the label, but the amounts are small and I didn’t notice much from them. Tablets are easy enough to take and I like that there are no artificial colors.Overall, this is basically a NAC supplement with some bonus herbs. If you’re looking for general respiratory support, it’s a good option. Just don’t expect it to replace actual treatment if you have ongoing respiratory issues.

Excellent for respiratory health
This supplement has been amazingly effective and I plan to always have it on hand. The content of the bottle is fragrant with the smell of onion and garlic which are two of the ingredients. Medium size caplets are smooth and easily to swallow. The formulation features NAC, with a bunch of herbs beneficial for respiratory health. Together they seem to work magic in my body. Since recovering from a nasty viral infection last year, I have been continuously bothered by small amount of phlegm forming every few days in the back of my throat. After taking 2 tabs of this daily for a week, I noticed my nasal passage and throat had been clear of phlegm for the past few days. My respiration track feels open and breathing is easier. I am excited by the amazing result so far and am optimistic it will bring me full recovery.
