Sensoril works, but differently for different people

I purchased SENSORIL when I was having some issues with panic/anxiety a few years back– since it’s supposed to promote relaxation. Well it does; it knocked me out! I slept all night and most of the next day. But I should also say, Benadril affects me the same way.So for me this was too strong. But I gave it to my father, who does not have anxiety, but who does have trouble sleeping, and he said it helped him feel more relaxed and to sleep better.Since he has real sleep difficulties, is eighty-one, and has other health problems, he now uses this product plus another Natural Factors Stress/Relax product, TRANQUIL SLEEP to help him sleep. Tranquil sleep has actual Melatonin.So this product does seem to work for anxiety, but it’s going to depend on what you are using it for,and it’s going to depend on how strongly things affect you, and if you are using other medications. My Dad can take pain pills for his health problems that would send me to the ER. I am super sensitive to all medications and can expect stronger effects from anything I take.So far I have only tried a few of this Stress/Relax line of products from Natural factorsSUNTHEANINE (the mildest and the one that worked for me when I was feeling panicky a few years back)I think this one just takes the edge off anxious or nervous feelings–might also work to calm you down if you have to do something stressful on a one time basis.SENSORIL (too strong for me, but might work for some who need something stronger. I would not take this during the day without testing it first.UPDATED on Tranquil sleep 9.18.12My father uses TRANQUIL SLEEP and it helps him, but I had a less than ideal reaction to what I can only assume was the 5_HTP or the Melatonin since the suntheanine didn’t bother me (see above)–but with this I was agitated and had too many rushing thoughts and images in my mind while trying to fall asleep. There seems to be a whole suite of these products and they seem to share some ingredients.UPDATE ON THE TRANQUIL SLEEP (8.28.14) –I USE IT NOW. I am not sure what has changed, but after menopause–see my full review of this product–I was not sleeping much, or well. I had insomnia (guess I still would –but for this product) could not fall asleep could not stay asleep (yes, I know it’s hormones and less melatonin from aging) and my sleep was of very poor quality. Now can fall asleep about 15-20 min after taking this and I stay asleep and I dream. I get good quality sleep. The tablets are chewable–like a big wafer. They taste pretty good too. TOTALLY RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT –DON’T TRY A POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS PRESCRIPTION BEFORE TRYING THIS. Try more than one if one is not enough. I have to use an alarm clock with this one, as I can sleep 9-10 hours if I don’t set the clock. That’s amazing.TRANQUIL SLEEP IngredientsCalories: 15gm, Carbohydrates: 4gm, SUNTHEANINE L-THEANINE: 200mg, 5-HYDROXYTRYPTOPHAN (5-HTP): 30mg, Melatonin: 3mgSUNTHEANINE IngredientsCalories (15), Carbohydrate (3 g), Suntheanine L-Theanine (200 mg)SENSORIL:Sensoril Ashwagandha 250mgMy recommendation is that if you want stress relief start with SUNTHEANINE, and then if that’s not enough have a look at their GABA product (have not tried) then SENSORIL. .If you want to sleep better, try SENSORIL first and then the TRANQUIL SLEEPThey also have straight Melatonin (the sleep hormone) in 3mg and 5mg.If you should not take 5-HTP, if you are on other meds, I think you might need to consult your doctor about 5-HTP. Not sure about Melatonin, I think that’s safe but you might check on that too. Just because these are supplements does not mean they won’t interact with other medications or your own chemistry. If you have a bad reaction, stop using them. And obviously don’t use any of these things for the first time when you have to drive, or as they say–operate heavy machinery.hope this helps

Serenity!

I purchased these at a time when I really needed some serenity in my life. What can I say, but that it stopped my tears! At the time I started taking these, the tears were non-stop, and I didn’t want to go on anything addictive or full of dangerous chemicals. I started with 4 a day and slowly weaned myself off until now, and I just take one a day. On stressful days, I will increase my dosage. I must say that sometimes these make me a bit sleepy, but not in a knock-out sort of way, just a bit too relaxed. Other days it seems to have absolutely no sleepy effect on me, but it definitely relieves my anxiety. So I guess it just depends on whatever emotion I’m already feeling. My sis takes them before bed, but I have tried different times and right in the morning with my morning tea works just fine.

Great product! This helps me stay calm and focused. I use it daily and went thru a stressful time ( passing of my Dad) and it helped me be peaceful with everything going on. Also use it when really stressed at work and helps me stay Focused. I will be taking this for a really long time. Suggest to take for menopausetoo.
