Thank you, Mind and Mood Botanicals! The shipping was very fast (3-4 days to my doorstep – I’m in California) and the packaging very aesthetic. Definitely a bargain for the price considering it is quality Vanuatu Kava. In addition, they tossed in a free 1.5 gram sample of 50:1 Blue Lotus Extract!The company really stresses the potency of their Kava, saying that they only include the part of the root with the highest concentration of kavalactones (the active ingredient)– however it is not as potent or finely ground as some other kava I’ve had in the past from local shops in my area. When compared, the effects of 2 tablespoons of this product creates less of a “drunk” or “stoned” kind of feeling, and more of a blissful and grounded kind of feeling. I still have yet to try higher dosages. With that being said, the effects are still highly pleasant and enjoyable.I have given this plant the test of time: Kava is a truly superb herb with wonderful effects that quell anxiety, bring people together, and soothes the mind. Not to mention it knocks you straight to sleep!My only question remaining is about the Blue Lotus: Do you guys use a clean extraction process to rid it of nasty by-products? I would hope so! Either way, it definitely beats products from other ethnobotanical suppliers I’ve tried in the past.Overall, great price, excellent service, and decent product. Disappointing!
It’s only okay kava. Not the most relaxing but it is at least as good as the waka that is also sold on amazon. I recommend buying from GHK. Far more expensive, but the potency is at least triple this product or any of the ones sold on Amazon. I was hopeful because other products from Mood & Mind have been high quality. This was my second pouch so I know I didn’t just get a bad batch. Disappointing!

Read a review from someone whos a Kava veteran
Let me start off by saying that Iv’ve been drinking Kava for years so I have lots of experience.For the negative reviews about this being “yuck” these people obviously never drank Kava before as this is a root…and always tastes kinda like mud water. After awhile it doesnt even bother you anymore, in fact you begin to kinda like the taste.I buy this a lot of the time just cause its on Amazon and hey…fast shipping and reasonably priced….is it the best, no it isnt. But I did a acetone test on it and it did come up noble, and it is pretty good.I have strong suspicion this is a Vanuatu Kava, by the feeling and taste. Its a little bit heavy and has that sedating chill that they are known for. Unlike the Tongans and Hawaiians.To make Kava proper and strong, do this.In a blender, (or the like) mix 2 tablespoons of Kava per 1 cup water I highly suggest adding Sunflower lectithin which can be purchased here on Amazon in a lb tub for like 16 bucks. Add one scoop lectithin and blend for a minute or so.Dump the blend in a strainer bag over a large bowl (I use a juice container) and squeeze out the concoction.You can also make a wash, which means you take whats in the bag and knead it in some more water, it will be less potent but still good, save money.Lectithin binds to the Kavalactones which help it go through the blood/brain barrier faster and more efficient which will in effect make your kava better.Thats pretty much it.This kava has mild numbing, slight sedation with a euphoric chill.

poor quality
Very poor quality, had little pieces of twigs in it, not a fine powder like I am used to, but a fluffy consistency. It smells like kava so I used some. It did not numb my mouth like I am used to, did not help with relaxing and relieving anxiety, made me feel sick for a few hours and caused loose stools. I am extremely concerned about the safety of this, and am very troubled this was available for purchase here.

Not potent or worthwhile
I am not impressed. After having tried probably about 25 different kinds, this is the only one that I never felt a fax from. The tongue rarely tangled… Only if I would consume 3 tablespoons worth at a time where as all the other brands I just need a tablespoon that I soak enough to get all of the good stuff out. Need for affordable health needs.
I have fibromyalgia and a few health issues. I like to take in some sources of canabanoids that are easier to get and affordable. I qualify for MMJ but its not yet available despite law changing 2 years ago! Even if I get the card the cost to get it and the monthly cost is ridiculous for a single mother. this brand of Kava also has many herbs for health on their website. Kava is relaxing and calming to my overactive nerves. i really don’t drink too much. some days I have a few glasses of tea… not as stout as suggested by many users and other days I have none. But if my body gets too stiff and achy I know I am probably lacking canabanoids, we all need some form of them. Chocolate, echinacea can provide some too…. but its nice that Kava has kavalectones to help calm myself. it is not as sedating or groggy as MMJ or alcohol. I love to have a glass of wine for pain at times, but kava lets me continue my thinking… unlike alcohol. I can study, read, and still relax. I buy from this brand alone for quite a few months now. I only use 4 oz every month or two.

Amazing
Great product and even better value. I’ve been working with kava for years and this is just a great product overall. It’s exactly what you’d expect, just know you have to make your own kava by adding it to a mesh bad, shirt or even a sock and letting it brew for a long while. The only thing I enjoy more than making this product is going to drink it too. Remember, kava has a distinct flavour, smell, and mouth-feel. The 5 star review is based on the quality of the kava and it’s related taste compared to other kava-related products.

It works!
It works! I did get the mild numbing feeling on my tongue people mentioned in other reviews right away. It was very subtle. I used 3 tbs to about 8-10 oz of room temp spring water. I kneaded it in the strainer bag for about 10 minuets then drank it. The stuff works!!!!! It took about a half hour or so for me to feel relaxed but it did help so much with my back pain. I slept comfortably all night. This was my first time trying it.
