20 mg of anything should go into the smallest possible capsule. Given this is an intermediate size capsule, most of what you are getting is rice flour. Lycopene is naturally red. These capsules show white content. There is no way to tell if there is any lycopene in them at all! Given that tests have shown that many products on Amazon don’t contain what is claimed, one can never be certain. I will give them the benefit of the doubt, 3 stars, and assume there is some lycopene in there somewhere. But given the size, this also makes them more difficult to swallow. I swallow multiple capsules at a time. I can swallow 3 of the smallest for every medium size, and I prefer this so much I am seeking out the products with the smallest capsules (and they NEVER tell us what size capsules are used, which I consider a major omission). Why is it “necessary” feed us all that rice flour? I want to SEE the substance I am getting, and concealing it with white rice flour at at least 10 to 1 of product, probably much more, is simply not acceptable. I hope the manufacturer will take this to heart and make some changes. I cannot tell if this supplement WORKS, since I take many supplements, so I can only go by what I see.

This is my first time seeing a lycopene product in powder form. If it is indeed encapsulated format, the white color seems unusual. However, after placing the powder in oil or ethanol (first photo) and microwaving for about 20 seconds (second photo), a visible color change occurred, suggesting the release of lycopene from the microcapsules. Although this is not a strict experiment, it indicates that the product is likely genuine. Still, the actual lycopene concentration cannot be verified, as pure lycopene dissolved in oil typically shows a much deeper, blood-red color.
