AThe daily dose is 2 pills per day , so you get 45 days with this bottle.Their own label says “usda not established” (see my picture) so you don’t know if you are getting high or low amounts of what they are providing.The bottle had a safety vacuum seal thing, so hopefully it came from a clean factory environment.I don’t really know if this has 500mg of lycopene, since I have no testing equipment. Maybe in 20yrs I would have less cancer, but no way to know that. I don’t get up from sleep to pee, but I doubt this pill would quickly fix that problem if I did.I take a daily.multivitamin that provides 300mg of lycopene (along with 100% of ADEK vitamins). I wouldn’t take an extra 500mg of luck pens on top of that daily.5 stars = seems to me like it is as described. I took 2 pills and didn’t immediately die, so at least it is not laced with fast acting poison…

I got this supplement for my 78 year old husband because I read that lycopene can be very beneficial for prostate health. I ordered it before checking the dosage and was shocked to read that the 500 mg recommended dose of Lycopene, or even 250 mg dose of Lycopene found in one capsule is way above the safe recommendation of Lycopene. According to multiple articles on the internet, the recommended dose of Lycopene is between 8 – 30 mg, sometimes as high as 45 mg a day with the safe upper limit being 75 mg per day. Although Lycopene is a strong antioxidant and is linked to a lower risk of prostate cancer, high doses can cause stomach discomfort and gas. It can also lower blood pressure and can interfere with blood clotting. Based on my research my husband will not be taking this supplement and I don’t recommend it.
