Do some research unless you know what Calcium AKG is for
This is a difficult product to review since there is no easy way for me as a consumer to discern its effectiveness on my internal systems. I can say the gel caplets are easy enough to swallow. However, I was curious why the labeling doesn’t list the amount of elemental calcium provided. So, I started doing some research.It turns out Calcium AKG is interesting but currently has only limited human research to support its claims. It is considered safe for most healthy adults, but individuals with heart problems, high/low blood pressure, or a history of kidney stones should avoid AKG without medical supervision.Also, I learned Calcium AKG is not intended to be for bone health, as I assumed and despite the listing mentioning bone density. Rather, Calcium AKG seems to be an anti-aging, cellular energy booster. With a serving size of 2 caplets, the bottle provides a 45-day supply. My recommendation is to do your own research to know if this is the product for your needs. At over $30 a bottle, it seems pricey for a product that in its own words is “not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease or health condition.” I’m giving 4 stars based solely on nice packaging and easy to swallow caplets.

An easy swallow gel cap for calcium supplement but at a price.
I like this product because it has a substantial dosage of calcium at 1500 mg. It also has a high dosage of both magnesium and vitamin D3, with a bit of zinc thrown in, and the soft gel capsules are easy to swallow. What I really appreciate though, is that I no longer have to put up with the fruit flavored chewable tablets. I always get really tired of the flavored tablets well before the container is empty, so it just sits there till I can handle the flavor again, usually not for months afterwards.However, because of the difference in price between these and the chewable tablets is enough to convince me to stick with the tablets. As good as these soft gels are, they do come with a heafty increase in price for calcium.

It is a great product that doesn’t have a weird smell. It is effective and good value for the money. The liposomal Ca-AKG formula seems to absorb better than other supplements I’ve tried. Definitely recommend.

I really like that this supplement combines calcium AKG, magnesium glycinate, vitamin D3, zinc, and boron in one convenient formula. The softgels are easy to take, and having these complementary nutrients together saves me from purchasing and taking several separate supplements. This is an interesting supplement that came with a couple of ingredients I hadn’t really heard of before. Definitely make sure you do your own research or speak with a doctor before starting these. The capsules are just barely larger than average but they are soft and squishy. They are easy to swallow but do like to stick together in the bottle. I do notice just a slight plastic scent but only if I stick my nose in the bottle. I don’t notice it if I smell the capsules in my hand. You’re meant to take 2/daily making this a 45-day supply. At $33, it’s about $0.73/day. It’s one of those things that are difficult to tell if it’s really working or not as it supports you internally so it’s up to you to decide if the price is a good deal or not.

Plastic smellPlastic smell
The first thing that hit me when I opened this bottle of supplements was the very strong plastic smell. The second thing was that 90% of the capsules were fused together in one lump. The soft gel itself is a fairly large pill and it is very soft. Swallowing it is a little bit of difficulty. I personally am not fond of pills this large. However the ingredients in this supplement are awesome I like all of them except for the zinc. The zinc is a little bit of too high of a dosage for me. When I tried to swallow the pill I did have a distinct plastic taste as well. Not really thinking I would get this supplement again.

This capsule has a lot going for it the fact that it has zinc, calcium, magnesium, and vitamin D is fantastic. The capsule is easy to take even though it is on the larger side. The smooth gelatin casing is very easy to swallow, and I haven’t noticed any odd digestive after effects later in the day from taking the capsules.As I’ve only just started taking the supplement, I can’t attest to all of the benefits as it will likely take a bit longer to see those effects. That said, this supplement contains a lot of what you might find in other multivitamin supplements so be sure you take a look at the ingredients or consult your physician before adding this to your regimen to be sure you’re not adding more than the daily value allowed.At $32 MSRP for a 45-day supply,, this may be worth a look.
