Good source of protein, large and difficult to swallow
This isn’t a direct protein powder that you drink to get protein intake. This is a source of Essemtial Amino Acids that allows your body to generate protein. That can work well as it keeps the machinery of your body ready and in action.I go with Legion EAA because of my experience with Legion as a supplement maker, and it is generally positive. These tablets provide about 1 gram of essential amino acids per tablet. The daily dose is about 5 grams, though you should be able to adjust it lower. The tablets are a bit too big to easily consume. If you are comfortable with large tablets, these will be fine, but if you have a gag reflex, these are not that easy. These are made in the USA, and don’t contain any buffers. There is no taste, and the tablets can be mixed with a meal for best effectiveness.Once i am able to convince myself to take them, I don’t see any side effects. My husband was able to consume them with ease, I struggled with the size but had no difficulty in digestion or any other symptoms. $30 for 30 servings makes this on the expensive side as these are still 5 grams of protein. Other than that, it is a good option to supplement, esp if you hate protein powders.

Most Useful When I’m Cutting or Training Early
I added these Legion EAA tablets because they fit the way I already take supplements. They sit next to my multivitamins, so in the morning it is just a few tablets with water and I am done. No extra routine, no planning, no pretending my nutrition is perfect every day. I care most about real meals, protein, sleep, and training hard, but early workouts, travel days, and rushed mornings happen.The main reason I like these is that they make the most sense when I am cutting. Im overall happy with the product but the pills are a bit hard to swallow.
As with most supplements, I’ve found it very difficult to distinguish whether they’re clearly effective or not. It’s easy to identify when there’s a problem, such as not feeling good after taking something, but it’s much harder to determine what specific advantage a supplement is providing. In this case, I haven’t noticed any negative effects, but I also can’t point to a specific benefit and say that it came from taking these tablets.That being said, I’ve used Legion products before and have generally been very happy with the quality of their products and the information they provide. I’ve used their protein powders, pre-workout, and other supplements, and I’ve been consistently happy with the overall quality and attention to the ingredients.There is one reason I’m taking away one star from this particular product. The tablets are very large and difficult to swallow. The recommended dose is five to ten of these large tablets, which makes the size even more noticeable. Ideally, I’d prefer the same serving in smaller tablets that are easier to swallow.I’ve previously used amino acids in powder form mixed into drinks, but this time I wanted to try them in tablet form so I wouldn’t have to taste the powder in my drink. From that perspective, these work well for what I wanted. I can take them without having to deal with the taste or texture of a powdered supplement.I would continue using them in tablet form, but I really wish Legion could make the tablets smaller. Having to take five to ten large tablets at a time is the one significant drawback I’ve found with this product.

I have a strong affinity for the Legion brand. I consistently purchase their products because I only use supplements that are backed by independent third party testing to verify their quality. This essential amino acid formula maintains their standard for a clean label by avoiding proprietary blends and providing clear dosages. At a price of $30 , or $24 if you apply an available coupon at the time of review, the 150 count bottle initially seems like a decent value.The major problem with this product is the physical delivery method. The label states there are 30 servings per bottle, which means a single basic serving consists of five monstrous pills. As you can see in the images, these tablets are absolutely massive. The instructions on the back of the bottle make this even worse by recommending that users take 10 to 15 tablets on training days. Swallowing that huge amount of gigantic pills requires a ridiculous level of physical effort.I love Legion and trust their raw ingredients, but this specific item is a complete miss for me. The daily chore of swallowing up to 15 huge tablets is completely unnecessary when you could just as easily dissolve a standard EAA powder in a glass of water. This product is fine for someone with a massive gullet who actively prefers taking solid pills over the convenience of a drinkable powder. Anyone else should skip this bottle entirely and buy a powdered amino acid formula instead.

Muscle support from a high quality supplement instead of a protein shake
One reason I love the Legion brand is that their supplements are 3rd party tested for purity. You can access the certificate of analysis for this supplement on their website. I also appreciate that they provide a detailed supplement label showing the quantity of each of the nine amino acids per serving.This is my first time trying an Essential Amino Acids (EAA) supplement. I supplement with protein powder every day, so I wondered why anyone would want to take an EAA supplement instead. From what I gleaned from Legion’s website, the answer is that an EAA supplement is an option for when you don’t want to drink a protein shake or eat a protein snack or meal, for example, if you prefer to work out on an empty stomach. It is essentially a lower-calorie option for supporting muscle growth.The downside is that you need to swallow a lot of tablets, and these tablets are on the larger size (comparable in size to the fish oil capsules I take). Due to the size, I need to swallow these tablets one at a time with water. On a non-training day, it is suggested to take 5 to 10 tablets with water between meals. On a training day, it is suggested to take 10 to 15 tablets with 8 to 12 ounces of water 10 to 15 minutes before training.I definitely prefer my protein shake over swallowing a lot of pills, and Legion has many wonderful protein powder flavors, but taking an EAA supplement is a great option if you are counting every calorie.

Transparent and clean formula
I usually prefer to get my essential amino acids with food, and I really like to get them with chicken schnitzel, or even with beef meatballs. But sometimes, especially after illness, or when not in particular mood for a volume of a protein shake, I feel that supplementing makes sense. The label gives you all nine essential amino acids and the exact amount of each. Each serving is five tablets and provides a total of 5000 mg of essential amino acids, including important for muscle-building branched-chain amino acids – leucine 1500 mg, isoleucine 820 mg, and valine 820 mg. Before training, 2-3 servings are recommended to take with a cup of water. For me, it’s 10-15 days supply. At price $30 per bottle, it comes to $2-3 per daily dose.The tablet format is convenient, but they are quite large, and many people would find it rough taking 10-15 of them at once. That’s probably a drawback of this supplement vs protein cocktail, although I really don’t mind taking that many when I feel like I’m getting the benefits from the formula. These Glycerin-covered tablets have a slight umami-like scent and leave a correspondent taste in the mouth. They are not harsh on my stomach, which is a real advantage of amino acid supplement. It may be effective for me when I just don’t want to make a protein shake and add a lot of extra calories with it. Despite it’s produced in a facility which may also process the whole list of food allergens, I didn’t feel any allergic effects.The company, Florida-based Legion Athletics, also states that the product is third-party tested with independent laboratory.
