Best Kava Company
This is the best kava around. I’ve tried every variety, and have never been disappointed with Kalm with Kava. the micronized is the best option if you don’t want to deal with strainer or the Aluball method. Also, it’s more affordable than the several tinctures and concentrates that are available. I highly recommend this product.Pouni ONO is a light kava. It doesn’t have sedative effects, and it is great for drink throughout the work day. I mix mine with some matcha, which seems counterintuitive, but it keeps the energy and clarity. The Pouni ONO keeps me generally relaxed. It’s a nice combination.

Good Heady Kava
I first tried Kava recently on Maui at a Kava bar, and since have been trying various varieties. This Poini Ono is my favorite I’ve found so far. It has a more mild flavor–less bitter, and a little warm and woody, but I especially like the more heady effects. Just a few tips I discovered that you should know if you are new to any Kava: Take it on an empty stomach, or at least 3-4 hours after your last major meal. If you aren’t feeling the effects from one tablespoon, you probably should have waited longer, but taking more to force it is not a great plan. Better to try again later on a more empty stomach. Likewise, if you try upping your dosage but it is too much, a big glass of water and about 400 calories should sort things out pretty quickly. Also, Kava does not mix well with stimulants like caffeine, ginseng, or yohimbe, so keep those things pretty far apart. A little caffeine, like a soda, won’t necessarily be a problem, but a dose of kava around the same time as a big coffee will be pretty uncomfortable, and sometimes causes cold sweats and heart palpitations, and too close to bedtime, difficulty sleeping. Empty stomach, only one or two tablespoons, no stimulants, you shouldn’t have any negative effects others listed in their negative reviews.

It works… But the effects do not last very long. Lasts about 30 minutes or less, for me. The Taste is bearable and not that bad. I won’t purchase again because it wears off too fast. Overall, not a bad product.
