The pill size is quite average. There is not any taste or smell when taking it. It’s very easy to swallow so that isn’t an issue. The bottle is quite average as wellI think it’s effective as I haven’t had any digestive issues while taking this supplement. You get 120 pills which is a great value. High Dosage. Little Transparency
This is my review for Immortal Herbs Sodium Butyrate Capsules 1200mg, High Absorption Postbiotic,Sodium Butyrate is often recommended by medical professionals for cases of GI dysfunction and or dysbiosis. Why? Because it helps support balance of good bacteria in the colon. Now a days we know that our digestive system is an important part of the team Gut-Brain group that probably is the most influential for our good health. This particular brand of Sodium Butyrate by Immortal Herbs is a high dose. The suggested dose is 2 capsules that equal 1200mg. They don’t specify if you can split the dose. The average dose is much much lower than 1200mg, around 150mg – 600 mg 2x a day depending if you want maintenance or therapeutic. I noticed that these capsules are not protected from dissolving too quickly (enteric coatings or microencapsulated) before they get to their intended destination. IF they are not made in this fashion there is a certain danger of dissolving in your stomach instead. Not helpful there! I strongly suggest you get guidance from a medical professional in using Sodium Butyrate for a few reasons. You may not want to start out at such a high dose if you are a beginner to avoid side effects and the salt content is pretty high. Side effects are mostly GI in nature. The capsule is not tiny so if you have difficulty swallowing you need to think about that too. There is the typical odor of Sodium Butyrate you need to get by. I also found a slip on the promotional page here. The ingredients list is not complete on this page. An ingredient seems to be left out. On the label the ingredient listed that was left out on the promo page is ‘BINDERS’ which means fillers. That means everything in that capsule is not Sodium Butyrate but other ingredients that help the contents stay fresh and non-clumping etc. Unfortunately, the fillers are not listed individually which would not be a good thing if you happened to have an allergy to one of those ingredients.So the above information has pretty much been my experience taking this supplement. In my case I was taking them for a ‘dysbiosis’ as quoted by my doctor. For me, this wasn’t worth the annoyances of the side effects especially since I was hoping to treat similar annoyances in my Digestive system. I also wasn’t happy by the lack of transparency.About Immortal Herbs: Immortal Herbs claims they are based in the USA. They state their product is manufactured in a state if the art facility but there is no reference to the location of this facility. They do state on the label that these products are manufactured for Immortal Herbs in Los Angeles. The manufacturing facility is claimed to follow GMP and have ‘quality testing to ensure purity and potency’ That doesn’t infer or state that they are 3rd party lab tested which is the most important point you need to have done along with availability of their ‘Certificate of Authenticity” So we don’t know where this is made nor the source of their ingredients. Finally, I could not locate a website for them although they offer an email in their contact link.Overall, this Sodium Butyrate is a reasonable price. There are 120 capsules at 2 a day equals 2 months worth. I would not purchase these again until I had complete transparency about the brand and the supplement and this Sodium Butyrate was made as other brands have with the microencapsulation process.

The more I watch doctor channels on YT the more I see and hear a running theme about the extreme importance of gut health and the importance of taking care of it. This supplement looks like just the support I was looking for to help with gut health support.This comes in an opaque, white, plastic bottle to help prevent light degradation. The bottle is also well sealed around the lid and under the lid to prevent tampering and to preserve the integrity and freshness of the product. Inside there are 60 capsules containing a white powder. I did not notice any bad smell or taste to the capsules. The capsules are of a good size that are convenient and easy to swallow. This is not a blend. It is pretty much a one-ingredient, focused supplement.I LOVE the fact that this is created in a GMP certified facility in the USA. It is also verified non-GMO and created with ethically sourced ingredients. This knowledge gives me confidence in the quality and potency of this supplement .Serving size is 2 capsules per day, making this a 30 day supply. As of 2/10/2026 the list price for this supplement is $24.99. There is a potential discount of 15% when shopping the brand promotion which has a very interesting lineup to choose from if inclined. This may be a little bit of a steep addition to a regimen if already taking a bundle of other things. I will finish this bottle and reevaluate how my (mostly grouchy all the time) guts feel after the 30 days. If I have marvelously spectacular results that I cannot hold myself back from spouting to the world, or, if I think this is a terrible awful thing to inflict on anyone, I will update this review. Ingredient list doesn’t match listing picture
The second picture of the listing clearly states: other ingredients: vegetable capsule. However, when the product arrived I noticed that the ingredient list of the actual supplement also contains: Bulking Agent INS460(I). I wasn’t aware of this as this isn’t disclosed in the listing and I wouldn’t have gotten the supplement had I known that it’s full of fillers.The supplement has a pretty horrible smell (something between parmesan and and egg that went bad) which had me concerned at first. However, a quick google search showed that a strong, unpleasant odor is to be expected so it seems to be the correct substance and the quality is fine. After taking it for a few days I didn’t notice any change in digestion or energy levels. I also didn’t have any side effects such a stomach upset. It’s a pretty good value for money considering that you’re getting 120 capsules (1 serving corresponds to 2 capsules). The capsules are midsize and easy to swallow (if you get over the smell).
