We prepare our Black Haw Extract from the stem & root bark of Viburnum prunifolium trees which are Certified Organically Grown without the use of chemical fertilizers, pesticides or herbicides. To assure optimal extraction of Black Haw's bioactive compounds, the bark is hand-harvested in the early spring, is carefully shade-dried, and is then thoroughly extracted.

    I feel so much better!

    I suffer from endometriomas on both ovaries, so around the time that I am fertile/ovulating and when I’m menstruating I have chronic pain in my pelvic area. Today happened to be one of those crampy fertile days, I took 30 drops in a glass of water, and haven’t even finished the water and feel so much better!!! I am beyond happy for this product because I try to stay away from OTC NSAIDS and other things. I am so thankful for this product because I feel no pain. I took it around 9am and notice that my pain is completely gone by the time I am writing this review which is 11am! I was feeling much better right after taking it, but now have not a bit of pain.

    Didn’t work for me

    I have horrendous menstrual cramps (I take 4 advil every 2.5 hours and still in so much pain), so thought I would try this. I had such high hopes. It was the absolute most vile thing I have ever tasted, and unfortunately it didn’t help me. I tried it in conjunction with Cramp Bark.

    Effective and tasty organic formula

    This product is a lifesaver for me. Black haw was recommended by my doctor for cramps and it WORKS. Where has this been all my life? I love that Herb Pharm makes an organic blend. It is easy to drink after mixing with a little water- not too bitter (not like Vitex!) I actually enjoy the taste. One dropful every 4-6 hours and my cramps are gone within 10 minutes. This has traditionally been used to prevent miscarriage as well, but I can’t confirm that. Even without Prime I receive this product in 3-4 days.

    High Blood Pressure relief

    Love this herb for lowering blood pressure!! Black haw is a nervine and a hypotensive. It’s relaxant and sedative acions explain its power in reducing blood pressure in hypertension, which happens through a relaxation of the peripheral blood vessels. It may be used as a antispasdmodic in the treatment of asthma, as well.Black haw has a very similar use to cramp bark, to which it is closely related. It is an effective relaxant of the uterus and is used for dysmenorrahea, false labor pains and threatened miscarriage. Amazing herb! I use one full squeeze of the dropper bulb to 2 oz water up to 4 times daily.

    Takes the edge off severe cramps

    I think it takes the edge off of really severe cramps. Not completely gone but the edge off. I take in conjunction with Cramp Bark. I think it works for about half hour. Not a miracle drug but when nothing else works (and you’ve tried everything), it’s nice to have and nice to know you aren’t hurting your body by taking it (as far as I know). Packaged well, delivered on time.

    Let me start off by saying that I am the epitome of type A personality; I plan everything and research as much as possible to accomplish my goals without wasting any time. My husband and I decided early in 2015 that we’d like to try to have a baby at the end of 2016. So what did I do? I researched the mess out of ways to safely get pregnant throughout the entire year of 2015. I wanted to write this review for anyone that may be interested in it for the same purposes I used it: pregnancy.I got to know my body really well by tracking all my symptoms and temperature in an app called Ovuview (which is a really great way to see your monthly temperature patterns. I HIGHLY recommend you start doing that if you want to get pregnant or avoid pregnancy.) Once I got in tune with my body I realized that I had a lot of movement in my uterus around ovulation and menstruation; more than other people noted on boards. It wasn’t necessarily crampy movements but it just seemed very active down there. SO I did some more research. I found that some women have more movement than others and that movement can make it more difficult for implantation (a very important part of getting pregnant). I wanted a nice uterus that invited a fertilized egg to stick around a while and found information that natural supplements could help relax the reproductive system. Black Haw is one of those products that is known to help, so I knew I wanted to take it from ovulation to implantation. Please do your own research and contact your doctor if you have any questions about this product. It contains a substance similar to aspirin, so it will thin the blood (which is a main reason I wanted it, but that might not be ideal for you.)The first time I took this product I was a little confused by the reviews and took twice the amount I was supposed to. The directions say to take 1 dropper bulb full with a few ounce of water and I just assumed they wanted the glass syringe to be full of liquid. I was feeling veerrry relaxed after taking that first dose. I realized that it really did mean just 1 bulb squeeze which only fills the glass tube halfway. I took it after breakfast lunch and dinner for about a week. I still felt a little movement but hopefully that was the egg happily moving through the Fallopian tube. I am still very early in the process so I’m not 100% sure if I am pregnant, but I’m definitely feeling some different things. Who knows- it might not have been a contributing factor even if I am pregnant, but in my case it didn’t hurt to try.Also- it really does taste pretty awful… but if it works for you then it’s definitely worth it.

    Saying “No” to Birth Control for 15 Year Old

    Bought this for my 16 year old daughter who suffers miserably from horrific menstrual cramps. She was placed on birth control at 15 in order to control cramps and flow. Although I was extremely hesitant about placing my 15 year old on hormones, I couldn’t accept the amount of medication she would have to take to relieve the pain. She would start off taking 3 Ibuprofen, which did nothing to relieve pain, then within 2 hours, take 3 Tylenol, then 3 Ibuprofen again. Conducted research and was relieved to find Black Haw and Cramp Bark were excellent in relieving menstrual pain. My daughter decided not to take birth control anymore and after reading the reviews for Herb Pharm’s Black Haw and Herb Pharm’s Cramp Bark I decided to purchase. We use them together and have had major success. I started off giving her 1/2 a dropper full of each mixed in juice. It dulled her pain, but didn’t take it away. I increased it to 2 full droppers of each Black Haw and Cramp Bark and that did the trick. I am so relieved to have found Herb Pharm!
