I am very familiar with cod liver oil, as I used to drink the oil for years. However, it’s convenient when I’m on the go since it can get messy if not taken properly and it causes a fishy breath. That’s why I looked into a supplement version instead since it’ll help me stay consistent even when I’m traveling. This soft gel has no fishy taste or smell, so I don’t have the fishy breath that I used to have. There is also no fishy aftertaste which is a great relief. The softgels are easy to take, the bottle is convenient, and thankfully there’s no need to drink actual cod liver oil like some kind of 19th-century sailor preparing for a voyage. The quality feels good, and the whole thing is ridiculously easy to add to my daily routine.For the price, the value is solid, especially considering the combination of omega-3s and vitamins in one simple serving. I remember as a child having to take cod Liver Oil every morning. Now that I’m older there was knowledge in the old ways, but now we can take a capsule in place of the spoon full.This has been working great with my system. They are easy to take. They have no taste or smell.The size is normal for an oil gel capsule. These are tested here in the USA so I know the quality I can trust.I know these are helping my body maintain my health.I really like and recommend this supplement!

If you want some extra Omega 3s in your diet, supplementation is an option. You have choices to make, not just in which brand to buy, but also what kind of fish. Each carry some advantages and disadvantages. Krill is naturally low in heavy metals because of its short life span. Regular fish oil can have mercury, etc. unless there is a purification process before encapsulating but is generally high in the Omega 3a. Cod liver oil can also have mercury unless there are measures to eliminate. Cod liver oil is naturally a little lower in the Omega 3s but high in vitamin A and D3. This might be desirable, but if you’re already taking these vitamins, you can get into toxic levels.This particular Havasu product carries non-GMO and GMP certification. As others have noted, there is no offensive odor or taste.Being picky, I don’t like the foil inner seal. It is hard to remove and generally leaves ragged foil along the bottle rim.The labelling and Amazon description appear to have been prepared well. I get nervous when there are discrepancies, typos, or poor grammar. I believe attention to detail, or lack thereof, can slop over into the product itself.Overall, a decent choice at a decent price.

Mild and easy to take!
Fish oils are a great supplement to help get your omega 3s and other vitamins. Personally I find that cod liver oil is one of the milder fish oils I’ve tried. It doesn’t have a super fishy scent to the bottle, and I don’t get any fishy taste when swallowed and taken as directed. The capsules are relatively small and very easy to take. Serving size is 2 capsules and the bottle comes with 180 softgels, so you get a full 90 day supply from each bottle when taken daily — that’s a pretty great value. I would buy again and have no reason not to recommend to others looking for a good fish oil supplement to add to their daily routine.
