Pros:- It is basically presweetened cocoa powder when no other sweeteners are really needed, except when you want it sweeter.- CocoaDynamics cocoa contains a higher content of flavanol, which sounds more nutritious than the regular cocoa.- It contains other ingredients that appear appealing healthwise, i.e., oat bran, CocoaDynamics, ahiflower oil, and coenzyme Q10.- It is versatile to be mixed with other food ingredients for different purposes: nut and cocoa butter, cocoa smoothie, and baked cocoa dessert, etc.Cons:- It is pretty pricey for only 15 servings.- Some people like to add their own sweetener, like dates, and some people may think that it is too sweet and may not accept stevia, monk fruit, and allulose that are already added there.- No one can tell what “Natural Flavors” contain when this is one of the ingredients.- Pea protein is the only protein listed, and it does not contain a comprehensive profile of plant protein, i.e., not all 9 essential amino acids are included.

Great health benefits, but too expensive and gritty to enjoy
I had high hopes for this vegan protein powder, but unfortunately, it fell short. On paper, the nutrition is fantastic: it features 22 grams of pea protein—which is on par with most supplements—and a stellar 7 grams of fiber (a major plus since most of us don’t get enough). The additions of oat bran, omega fatty acids, and CoQ10 also boost its overall nutritional value, making it a great breakfast substitute at 210 calories.However, the flavor and texture simply don’t deliver. It is not very chocolaty or sweet. While I can usually immediately detect the taste of monk fruit, I didn’t get that here; it’s just not sweet enough on its own, though you can easily fix that by adding your own sweetener.What I absolutely cannot get over is the texture. It is incredibly gritty and feels like fine sand in your mouth. I know the grit is likely due to the added oat bran, but it is highly off-putting. At roughly $5.33 a serving, this is a very expensive supplement. While it might be a decent, nutrient-dense option for a dedicated vegan or vegetarian, the sandy texture makes it a pass for me.

Decent for pea protein, but far too expensive
The chocolate flavor is decent considering this uses pea protein. There is a noticeable aftertaste, but it still tastes good enough that I can drink it without a problem.I do not like the packaging. Most protein powders come in a rigid tub that is easy to open, scoop from, and close again. This comes in a pouch, which is more awkward to manage and easier to make a mess with when scooping out the powder.The biggest problem is the value. I thought the formula sounded interesting and wanted to try something different, but this is by far the most expensive protein powder I have used. At around $80 for only 15 servings, it costs more than $5 per shake.The taste is acceptable and the added ingredients may appeal to some people, but I cannot justify paying this much for such a small number of servings.

High points for nutrition, but falls short everywhere else
At a glance, I was really hoping for a lot from this shake powder. The nutrition seems fantastic – and the healthy ingredient list and all had me expecting probably too much, because unfortunately, it really falls short in taste, texture, and ease when it comes to mixing. No matter what, I have to put this in a blender, or it never does break down and incorporate in a liquid – it clumps, kinda like pancake batter or something, and has little bits that stay gritty and stick to everything, and it just unpleasant. The taste is okay, really, but not great, and the texture is a bit of a turn-off. If it were a fraction of the price, I could accept that – but this is entirely too expensive for that. It should be perfect, seeing as I can go to a store and get a better shake that’s already made and tastes better and not have to deal with the hassle that making this one presents. So a star off each for taste, texture, and poor value – sorry, can’t recommend this at all, except for the nutrition content. Disappointing.

Quality protein drink!
I was very excited to try this as I love a lot of other products from Gloriously Vegan! The quality is excellent, not gritty and no funny taste other than it’s a little on the sweet side for me. I have found that I can enjoy all of its benefits by tempering the sweetness with additional unsweetened peanut powder and fresh spinach, both of which only boost the nutritional benefits in my opinion. I blend it in my high powered blender. It mixed well into my almond milk. I definitely like the 22 grams of protein per serving!The ingredients are top notch and I can feel the benefits to my overall health. I’d recommend this if you don’t mind sweeter tasting things and want a quality protein drink.

Tastes great. More filling… But….
I want to rate this better. To be very honest out of the gate. I typically do not like the taste of protein powders. This stuff tastes fantastic. It is certainly the strongest point of the product. The protein content is okay. There are better products available out there. But if you’re someone that tastes really matters for then this might be for you.I have two glaring problems with the actual product though. The first is the baggie packaging. Given the cost of this product, the packaging is rather cheap. Would this being a very fine powder, scooping it out of a bag can be a bit of a messy task. It also means that the scoop that’s included was all the way in the bottom of the bag because it’s settled and moved. At this level. A canister would have been much better and easier to manage. That’s why all the major brands use them even though production wise they cost more.And cost per serving becomes the second factor. At this rate I can save the mixing and go buy some pre-made protein shakes at my local convenience store for the same cost per serving. This saves me nothing. The idea of making protein shakes at home is partially a cost cutting measure like any other product.I see other potential uses in this for baking and what not, but I have not tried that. It yields potential there though. I could see this making some interesting and tasty little products.

Thick Shake and Great Taste
I was genuinely surprised by how thick this protein shake turned out. I mixed it with water, expecting the usual thin consistency, but it was rich and creamy instead. One of my biggest complaints about most protein powders is that they become watery when mixed with water. Since I’m trying to cut calories, I don’t want to use milk, and many shakes end up tasting like chocolate-flavored water.This one is different. I’m actually using about twice the recommended amount of water, and it still has a thick, satisfying texture. The flavor holds up well, and it feels much more like a real shake than most protein powders I’ve tried.I also noticed the energy boost I typically get from a good protein shake, and at 210 calories per serving, it fits comfortably within my daily calorie goals. If you’ve been hesitant because of the price, I’d recommend giving it a try. The quality and taste may just make it something you look forward to every day.
