Good Quality Ginseng, But a Little Pricey
I bought this box of American ginseng slices to try in my tea and soup, and overall I am happy with it. The slices look nice and have a natural color. They are all about the same size, which makes it easy to grab a few pieces each day. I like that the ginseng comes from Wisconsin because I have heard that is a good place for growing this root. The box looks fancy and would make a nice gift for someone. For making tea, I put three or four slices in hot water and let it sit for a few minutes. The taste is a little bitter but not too bad, and I feel calm after drinking it. For soup, I just drop the slices in while the soup is cooking, and they add a mild flavor. The functionality is good because the slices are thin and ready to use right out of the box. You don’t need to cut or chop anything. Ease of use is very high—just open the box, take what you need, and close it. The box also keeps the slices safe and dry. Durability seems fine because the slices are dried and hard, so they don’t break easily. I think they will last a long time if I keep the box closed tight. Now for the price. This is where I take off one star. The value for the price is just okay, not great. You get 4 ounces in the box, which is not a lot for the money. I wish there was more inside or the price was lower. For people who use ginseng every day, this box might run out fast. Also, the taste is fine but nothing amazing. It works, but I was hoping for a little more flavor in my tea. The service assurance sounds good, but I haven’t needed to use it, so I can’t say much about that. Overall, this is a solid product. It does what it says. The quality is nice, the slices are easy to use, and the box looks pretty. But because the price is high for the amount you get, I give it four stars instead of five. If the price drops, I would buy it again. For now, it is good but not perfect.

High quality Wisconsin ginseng
These are good quality American ginseng slices. I like that they use 5-year-old Wisconsin-grown roots, and the slices are fairly uniform and naturally dried without a bunch of extra ingredients.I mostly use them for tea. The flavor is mild, earthy, and slightly sweet, without being too bitter. A few slices steeped in hot water is enough for a light cup, and they can usually be steeped more than once. They also work well added to soups or broths.American ginseng is something I use more for general wellness and energy support than for any immediate effect, so I am not expecting to feel something dramatic after drinking it. I prefer the sliced root format because you can actually see what you are getting and adjust the amount yourself.Overall these seem fresh, taste good, and offer decent value for genuine Wisconsin American ginseng. I would get them again.

Gives a pretty good quantity of ginseng slices. Much more than I expected. They are sliced very thinly in round circles. The taste is a little hard to describe. It is a mixture of sensations. There are elements of bitterness and sweetness. It has an earthy quality to it.

I got this ginseng to make tea with it, simply steeping two slices in a cup of hot water. The flavor profile is relatively mild, and what I’d describe as “earthy”.My reason for making the tea was to see if it helped with fatigue and mental clarity. I certainly don’t think it hurt, but I wouldn’t say it had the same effectiveness as caffeine.At $30 for four Oz it is priced fairly for American grown ginseng. I read Wisconsin is a great place to grow it. I wouldn’t pay any more than that though.4/5. Worth a shot if you want to try ginseng in root form, but I’d do your own diligence and not expect drastic results.

Nice Packaging Overall
The box isn’t the easiest to grab a slice from, but honestly I really like it. It looks a lot nicer than a regular plastic bag and feels great for gifting. After opening it, I just poured the slices into a storage jar, so it really wasn’t a big deal.

For supplement products, due to the fact that they are so unregulated in the US, I always like to check for a few things like is there any information about where it was manufactured, any information about 3rd party testing and how many capsules, scoops or servings per recommended daily dose to translate to a total number of doses instead of just overall count.This product is made in the US, grown in Wisconsin apparently and doesn’t mention safety testing.The product comes in a box but without a bag or seal so they could spill out when you open it. The pieces are presliced but decent size and look similar to the images. They report that it can be use soaked in tea or simmered in soup. I don’t have a ton of experience with ginseng but I think they taste about right and a little bitter.They are easy to use in tea or soup and I didn’t notice any unpleasant reactions or side effects so far. It is hard to say if I can tell any specific positive benefits at this time having taken it for a while but these effects can be difficult for me to notice.Pricewise I think it is about right for similar products and good value.

Not a fan of the packaging
I don’t like that the packaging isn’t sealed. The ginseng is placed on top of bubble wrap in a plastic tray with a cover that’s taped closed, inside the gold box that’s also taped closed. It’s hard to lift off the tray cover without some of the product spilling. I put it in a zipper-seal plastic bag after I opened it, to keep it contained, and help it stay fresh and avoid pests.The only indication I could find of how much you’re getting is from the nutrition information (58 servings, 2g per serving). I weighed and found it to be about 114 grams, or approx 4 ounces (after tiny pieces fell out when opening the box).I personally don’t care for the taste, but am not taking off stars for personal preference. My spouse likes it, and thinks it’s a neat little interesting treat to chew on.
