    Works great for me

    I tried the Gaia Herbs Valerian and Poppy Tincture by adding some to my evening tea and I love it. I think it helps me sleep faster.**What I Love**- Easy to add a few drops to tea or water- Clean ingredient list with Regenerative Organic Certified herbs- Purity tested, gluten-free, vegan, and Non-GMO Project Verified- Convenient dropper bottle for measuring- Mild herbal taste that blends well in evening teaI take a small amount in my tea about 30–45 minutes before bed. It has become part of my wind-down routine, and I feel like I fall asleep more easily on the nights I use it. The bottle is easy to use, and a little goes a long way. I appreciate that it’s made with carefully sourced ingredients and doesn’t contain unnecessary additives.As with most herbal tinctures, the taste is earthy and a bit strong on its own, so mixing it into tea works best for me.This Gaia Herbs Valerian and Poppy tincture is a simple addition to an evening routine. I enjoy using it in tea and feel it supports falling asleep more easily. A good option if you’re looking for a clean, organic herbal sleep support tincture. Recommended based on my experience.

    Not strong enough to be effective on me

    This wasn’t nearly strong enough to have any effect on my sleep at the recommended dosage. I had to take about 1/4 of the bottle for it to make me slightly sleepy. Otherwise it’s a typical alcohol based tincture, and as a result the taste isn’t good. The price is also not great, there are options that are less than half the price that seem just as trustworthy.

    Seems to work!

    I waited to test this until I had terrible insomnia, which happens every few weeks to me. It really seemed to put me into a deep sleep.I slept in too long after a birthday celebration and disrupted my routine by several hours. The following night was major toss and mega turns. So I gave this a try…I just mixed with water and drank it fast. There’s a slight scent to it, almost like a tamed licorice but has no such flavor, which I found odd. The flavor was slight but had a flowery sensation of taste. Not bad tasting not great, almost neutral. I’m sensitive to bad taste so this was thankfully not that.About 30 minutes later I felt the wall of sleepy hit and 10 minutes after that I was fast asleep.I stayed asleep for 6 solid hours which is unusually long for me.The next day I did feel fresh, no groggy head in the morning.I tried it again a few days later and again I did sleep well and woke refreshed.I can’t say with such a small sample that this is definitively why, but I’m certainly going to continue using it for the times I have a big next day and can’t sleep.No stomach disturbance whatsoever.Not something I’ll use all the time as it rather pricey, but will use when a good night sleep is imperative.Nice product!

    Fewer Nighttime Bathroom Trips!

    I’ve tried this product for one month to combat my insomnia. I find that it definitely makes my sleep more constant– no getting up for bathroom breaks once I’m asleep. And, I really appreciate the continuous sleep!! It doesn’t actually help me to fall asleep any sooner/easier, though.So, I added an extra drop, and… wow. I woke up around 3AM itching all over my body! Honestly, I don’t recommend exceeding the dosage for any reason! My bad. There were ZERO side effects when I took just the recommended dosage. (And, that dosage is only 2 drops, so this bottle will last for months– a great value for your money).The taste of the drops is strong and a little bitter, but not too bad compared to other herbal tinctures I’ve had. Still, I recommend either drinking something to clear your palate immediately after taking the drops or just adding it to your beverage.Most importantly, if you’re tired of all the wake-ups to run to the bathroom in the middle of the night, try this product. It really helps!

    Amazing sleep tincture from a wonderful company. I have been using Gaia herbs for years and this very high quality, regenerative organic certified sleep tincture that works wonders for helping support a good nights sleep. Sleep is so important for many reasons and this tincture has been a staple for me.The smell is absolutely potent and delightful with a nice earth taste and you can really taste the high quality herbs and definitely know that it is full strength. I’ve been using valerian off and on over the years and the combo of the poppy really helps me get back to sleep when I wake up in the middle of the night. It also helps me wind down after a long day. I’ve struggled with sleep since peri menopause started and this tincture has been a game changer for me. If I use it before bed I take it an hour before and drift soundly off to sleep. If I wake up in the night I take the tincture and about 30 minutes later I’m ready to fall asleep again. Grateful for this powerful, natural option to help support sleep.Highly recommend this amazing sleep support tincture from Gaia herbs, from the quality, to the taste, to the price this is a must have for my home remedy cabinet.     Certified Regenerative Organic

    This is an alcohol tincture of Valerian root and whole-plant California Poppy by Gaia Herbs, an American company based in North Carolina with multiple organic certifications and ISO-certified labs.The bottle arrived bubble-wrapped with intact tamper seal and no leakage. The expiration date (5 years out) and tracking number are clearly marked and easy to read. Upon opening the bottle the scent is strongly of earthy herb and the scent will linger on anything it touches (think earthy herb breath). The liquid is dark brown and dispenses easily from the dropper as with an alcohol tincture there is no stickiness as with glycerin. The dropper has no measurement markings. Instructions advise 2.5 droppers per dose = 1.9ml. The tincture mixes easily into liquids.The active ingredients Organic Valerian (Valeriana Officinalis) root and Organic California Poppy (Eschscholzia Californica) are a “Blend” so there is no indication of how much of either ingredient a recommended 1.9ml dose contains.Over-all this blend seems very well made by a company with a long track record in the organic supplement business. I think this product falls a bit short due to imprecise measurement out of the bottle and lack of transparency regarding actual amounts of each active ingredient. Price is average for a one ounce organic tincture.

    Complete Labeling and a Proper Tamper Seal

    I do not try to review the effectiveness of supplements like this and I make no health claims. Instead, I focus on the formulation, packaging, and whether the label provides the information I expect to see on a properly presented dietary supplement.This bottle arrived with an intact shrink-band tamper seal around the cap and neck. The ingredients are straightforward: an organic herbal extract blend containing organic valerian root and organic California poppy whole plant, with organic alcohol and water as the other ingredients. I do not see anything objectionable or unexpected in the formulation.The labeling is quite thorough and follows the general FDA-style format I look for. It includes a Supplement Facts panel, serving size, servings per container, suggested use, relevant warnings, storage guidance, the standard FDA disclaimer, and the name and address of the company responsible for the product. The bottle also has a traceable ID number and a clearly printed best-by date of 04/31. Overall, the tamper protection, ingredient disclosure, and labeling all appear to be handled properly.

    Mix in water and note this is only about 16 doses!

    First of all: after a couple nights using this, I cannot honestly say that this is having any positive effect.The details: I am shocked how much you are supposed to use. Following the directions, this bottle is only 16 uses. And, you definitely want to mix it into something else to drink… I made the mistake of putting it directly in my mouth and the taste is… memorable. Even after brushing my teeth my wife could still smell it on my breath.If it helped me sleep, I may be more interested in trying to stick with this, but all in all, I think this is a pass for me, but ymmv.
