I decided to try Serenocin Heart-Brain Axis because I’m in the middle of remodeling my house, and the constant decisions and never ending to do list have definitely left me feeling stressed and mentally drained. I figured it was worth adding a supplement with ingredients that I was already trying to include in my routine. The capsules are a dark green color and have a slight licorice like taste. When you open the bottle, you’ll also notice the distinct scent of fenugreek, which I found pleasant. I don’t want to claim that this supplement magically eliminated my stress, because that’s not been my experience. This GAIA HERBS PRO Serenocin Heart-Brain Axis is targeted towards “heart health” so contains a number of supplements targeted towards that end. Hawthorn (berry, leaf, and flower!) is intended for cardiovascular support. Turmeric Root for inflammation overall. Then it also has Fenugreek Seed for metabolic health and saffron extract, which seems to be used for mood stabilizationI will point out that Hawthorn can apparently lower blood pressure and so if you have related issues or are on medication to treat it – you should check with your doctor. I don’t know how much this can affect it, but as with some other supplements for heart health, it is a factor that you definitely should consider before taking.The capsules are Gaia’s “liquid phyto-caps” and are vegan – always a plus. They’re not quite as large as some other typical supplement capsules, so are easy to take. The dosage recommended is 1 capsule 2x a day (between meals) so you get a 30-day supply (60 capsules). I didn’t experience any odd taste – they do have a mild scent to them, nothing off-putting, but I found it interesting because to my nose, they smell a bit like a mix between maple syrup and engine coolant(!) I don’t think that’s concerning, though – it’s just an association I noticed.Effectiveness with supplements is difficult to measure, and certainly varies person-to-person, so all I can say there is I feel that due to the quality of ingredients, along with the blend you’re getting, I expect that whatever these will provide in terms of efficacy, they’re probably worth the cost.

This supplement contains hawthorn, which can affect blood pressure. If your blood pressure is already low or you are on BP medication, talk to your doctor first. For me, my blood pressure generally runs high – not high enough for medication, but always high – so the hawthorn is a feature, not a problem.I received this in 05/2026 and the expiration date is 07/2028. That gives you about 26 months, which is a solid shelf life.The formula brings together several botanicals. Hawthorn berry, leaf, and flower for cardiovascular support. Turmeric root for inflammation. Fenugreek seed for metabolic health. And saffron stigma extract, which is traditionally used to support a positive outlook. The idea is the “heart-brain axis” – that your emotional state and your heart health are connected, and supporting both together makes sense.These are Gaia’s liquid phyto-caps, which I have used before. They absorb well and are easy to swallow. The suggested use is one capsule twice daily, and the bottle contains 60 capsules, so that is a full 30-day supply.The saffron seems to take the edge off without any weird feelings. Love Gaia for herbal supplements, they usually use more potent parts/extracts of the plants, and don’t use nasty fillers in Other Ingredients.This supplement will be great to take during moody 2 weeks of the month because it contains Saffron, which has mild mood boosting properties and helps to avoid mood-related eating. I wish Gaia sold Saffron supplement separately, they only sell it as part of a combo with other herbs. Fenugreek also has subtle appetite regulating qualities, but after taking it for a week during pms, my appetite was unchanged, i.e. still reached for snacks after lunch, even if healthy.Hawthorn berry is traditionally used for cardiovascular support. Turmeric is an anti-inflammatory superstar, i always have it as a supplement at home.I have normal low blood pressure, and many herbs tend to lower it further and make me feel weak and shaky, so I learned that I shouldn’t be taking them every day and definitely take it only after a good lunch, not in the morning when I usually have a light breakfast and fast for 7-8 hrs until lunch.And that is actually the reason I removed a star for this. Gaia Pro often combines a few ingredients in one line in terms of showing the quantity. For me, especially at this high price, it would be easier and more beneficial (sensitive to herbs that lower BP and blood sugar) to see the quantity of each single ingredient.The capsules are pretty small, easy to take.
