Very neutral taste and easy to add to a daily routine

Seems to Have Utility, but Hard to Tell
Powder is designed to hydrate and primarily as appearance enhancer. Skin does seem to avoid dryness after use, but that can only be determined after prolonged consumption. Also, dosage amount of 1/4 teaspoon is not easy to measure precisely, and product does not include any spoon or tool to use for transfer from jar. It is easy to mix and dissolves almost completely in liquid. The product is reputed to undergo testing to protect against contaminants and confirm quality according to US standards, but with item labelled as product of China. Gaia Herbs Organic Tremella Mushroom Powder is an excellent product. Gaia, a trusted brand, creates products that are powerful and just seem to work better than similar products from other brands. I can always rely on them for pure formulations that give great results. This Tremella powder is no exception. It’s absolutely wonderful.I have no trouble dissolving the powder in room temperature water. I measure a bit into a small amount of water, mix it well and drink it in one go, sort of like having a shot of whiskey. It dissolves easily without clumps. It has a slightly earthy taste that I find pleasant. I’ve been doing this once a day for several weeks and the effects are noticeable. I have experienced no ill effects or gastrointestinal issues since beginning to use it.My mature skin feels more supple, smoother and appears more radiant. I’ve noticed increased elasticity as well. Even my adult daughter, who lives out of state and I hadn’t seen in awhile, noticed when she visited recently and wanted to know what I’d been using since the last time we saw one another. What I love about this powder is that it’s not a topical application, but an elixir that nourishes from within. Concerned and disappointed
I had been taking this not realizing it was what’s been giving me severe acid reflux. I decided to take it again today without any other supplements to be certain it was indeed this product. I took only a sip mixed in with my water. Just minutes later… severe reflux. I’ve taken tremella mushroom before and never had an issue, so I do not know what is going on with this product. Very concerned and disappointed as I spent a fair amount of money on this.

Unfortunately, for me, my jar of Gaia herbs Tremella mushroom powder arrived with a broken lid. It came packaged very loose inside a bubble wrap pouch that didn’t really protect it. It is a glass jar with a plastic lid. Lucky for me just part of the edge of the lid broke, and the safety seal underneath was still intact. So I am able to transfer this into a new container and still test the product.A serving size of this powder is 1 g (1/4 tsp) and the label says there are 60 servings per container. There are no additional ingredients added so each 1 gram serving is 1 g of organic Tremella fruiting body extract.The powder itself is a light cream color. It’s a very fine ground powder. The powder itself doesn’t really taste much like anything, the flavor kind of reminds me of rice flour. It’s very neutral and easy to hide. Suggested use is to take one serving daily mixed into liquid or food. It does not specify if heat is OK.Gaia herbs sources their products globally, and this one is listed as a product of China, which makes sense because this mushroom is native to China. They package their products in the United States in ISO and cGMP certified facilities. They do rigorous in-house testing and they have that testing verified by third parties for things like pathogens and heavy metals.The only downside is it is pretty expensive for how much you get. Also, the jar is only about half full..

I’ve used a couple of other Gaia products, and they’ve been stellar – potent and effective. The brand itself has an excellent reputation. When I saw this, I wanted to try it. Heaven knows, I could use its purported effects.The first thing I noticed with this is that it has a very mild, earthy flavor – maybe a bit clay-like? But light and mild. So much so that if I mix it in something other than water, I can’t taste it. The drink may taste just slightly different, but not enough to really change anything.If you’re not putting it into something hot or carbonated, a little drink mixer would be advisable; I’ve been having difficulty getting all the powder dissolved in cold liquid. Even so, it’s surprisingly easy to swallow. I would have expected to be gagging over every bit of undissolved powder, but instead, it goes down pretty easily. I was able to get it dissolved completely in bedtime tea.If you’re wanting to try Tremella, I really don’t think you can do better. Fingers crossed that it’s a good herb for me.
