I use supplements to help close the gap between modern nutrition levels in our food and the levels that were there when I was young. But, in my opinion, the supplement industry has both some of the highest integrity companies, and some of the lowest. So I try and give a detailed enough review to help you know the company and product better so you can determine for yourself whether or not you want to try this one out.This bottle comes a little more than half full, which is one of my pet peeves with many supplement companies. I would prefer they put in more capsules and/or use a smaller bottle.Unfortunately, Amazon put their sticker right on the bottle’s label so I can’t read all the information there.If used as directed it will last 40 days.The “Best by” date on mine is Oct 2027.The capsules have virtually no scent or taste, and are easy to swallow with water.I like my supplements to say organic, non-GMO, GMP-certified, 3rd-party tested, and made in the USA. This says made in the USA, GMP certified, zero GMO, and lab tested (does not indicate if it’s 3rd party).I look into the supplement companies I use because I’ve come across so many questionable ones. I like to see a phone number on the website, or at least a chat feature. Their website has a Contact page form. The folona site is mostly functional (all but one of the answers on their FAQ page are just repeats of the question) and a little bit informative – it has information on the founder, though it doesn’t mention her name. I would like to see more information on the company, their sourcing, manufacturing, and results of their testing.I seem to take longer than most to see results when starting a new supplement but I like this blend, other than the magnesium stearate which many companies say they need to use, while the manufacturers of the highest quality supplements that I am aware of refuse to.Thank you for reading, I hope it was helpful.

I decided to try the FOLONA Creatine HCL with Shilajit specifically to avoid the bloating and water retention from standard monohydrate. At $0.75 per serving (3 capsules), it is a premium, but the convenience and digestion benefits might be worth it. but 2 per day is a pet peeve of mine but standard policy it seems – 3 per day is dropping a star for the reviewI totally get ‘capsule fatigue’—it’s a bit of a hassle to take 3 a day and frankly I probably won’t comply.. but u don’t have to deal with messy powders or a loading phase. The addition of Shilajit is a unique touch that helps with endurance during long sets. If you’re looking for a ‘clean’ muscle builder that won’t mess with your stomach, this is a solid 40-day supply. I personally won’t buy this one again as I know myself and there is no way I’ll take 3 a day.

Cost effective, convenient form factor
I waited to complete the bottle to write this review, so this is based on a few weeks’ usage. First, the form factor is convenient – no messy powder that I need to worry about, I can just put a few capsules into a plastic sandwich bag and take them with me. The capsule format makes it easy to take, no mixing and no mess (or white powder that falls everywhere and… looks suspicious). The downfall, though is that the number of capsules you need to take for the dose is, well, a lot. But, you need to take the good with the bad, and in my case it’s a goods tradeoff for convenience.I found there to be no aftertaste – especially if you take the capsules with sufficient water (or other drink). The bottle lists compliant, high quality ingredients – taking it at face value, it’s pretty healthy. I didn’t have any concerns with the formulation. The capsules seemed to be effective, they fit right in with my supplement regimen – and honestly, for the cost versus return on investment, I have no complaints. They seem to “power through” the workout, maybe it’s me – but I seemed to have a boost of energy when working out.Are they for everyone – nah. But for the convenience, the cost, and the ease of use, I’ll continue using them.

Made in the USA and heavy metal tested shilajit
I love that this is made the USA. And I love that they care enough about the shilajit source to have it tested for heavy metals. I am always leery of products that incorporate this because of the metals concerns so it’s great that they are being careful here. Though it would be nice to see the results of that testing for each batch they are putting out.I am not a regular consumer of creatine and know next to nothing about it. So I cannot really comment on the technical aspects of this one. I am going on blind faith that it is what they say it is and it has what they say it has. In which case this one seems like a solid choice and a good place to start.I am a novice at best with lifting weights. Personally, I experienced no ill effects and I do think I got some benefit from it!I wish the dose wasn’t three capsules but I get why it is.I don’t know if I’ll continue with any creatine at all but if so, I would be happy to stick with this one.

Finally, a creatine that doesn’t cause bloating! I’ve tried monohydrate before, but it always made me feel heavy and caused stomach issues. This HCL version is a game changer, it dissolves instantly and I feel none of the usual side effects. Plus, needing only a few capsules instead of a massive loading phase is so much more convenient. 10/10 for absorption!
