   Good Iron Supplement

   I have been anemic since I was a teenager and most iron pills upset my stomach even when taken with food. The serving size is two but I started with one for a few days to let my system get use to it then added the second one after 4 days. So far this one has been great with no stomach discomfort and I love the easy-swallow capsule it hides that iron taste you get from most iron supplements.I like the added vitamins and do feel a little more energy since taking these. Like many supplements you have to take them for a while to really see the effects of them but so far these have been working out great for me. Just remember that everyone is different in the way their body handles supplements. My only complaint is i felt a bit constipated in the beginning and I believe that’s listed as a side effect as you get used to it and only lasted a short time.

   purchased this specifically because my ferritin is low and I wanted a more comprehensive iron supplement. At $30 for a 30-day supply, it’s not the cheapest option, but I like that it uses ferrous bisglycinate along with vitamin C, B12, folate, copper, and lactoferrin rather than just providing iron alone.The full serving contains 45 mg of iron, so it’s a substantial dose. So far, the digestibility has been good and I haven’t experienced any side effects, including the stomach upset or constipation that can sometimes happen with iron supplements. The capsules are also easy enough to incorporate into my routine.As far as effectiveness, it’s too early for me to say that it has increased my ferritin based on how I feel alone.    For those who need to supplement iron, the first thing we should be warned about is what helps or inhibits iron absorption. Calcium, bad. Vitamin C, good. So I like that this includes C in the same capsule so I don’t have to swallow another pill (though these come as two pills; the iron/C supplement I took before was just one). I appreciate that the non-gelatin capsule prevents any taste, which can be an issue with iron supplements. I also appreciate the B6/B12 and active form of folate. So this supplement checks many boxes for supplements my doctor has recommended for me. The pills are quite large, so those who struggle with pill swallowing may have issues. I do appreciate that with the added Bs/folate, that took other separate pills out of my rotation, so I don’t mind two here. I do wish these would be clear in where they are made, so I took a star off for that.

   I bought one bottle of this iron supplement. I like the fact that it comes with a small amount of B vitamins. There are 60 capsules in a bottle, which lasts for 30 days if taking 2 per day (I’d prefer just 1 capsule per day at this price). The capsules are a normal size, and I don’t have any difficulty taking them. They contain a greyish powder inside the transparent capsules.Regarding the value and price, at $30, that means around $1 per day, which in my opinion is quite expensive considering it is mainly an iron supplement with a few B vitamins, rather than a multivitamin.

   I’ve been taking iron supplements forever, being blessed with anemia for my whole life. The winters are especially hard – my limbs just never feel warm. Ferritin delivers iron in a “gentler” way, which is supposedly absorbed by your body better. I take this as a continuation of my old regular iron supplements, so I cannot attest to the clean effect of these ones. All I can say is my anemia hasn’t gotten worse, and I have not observed any side effects.They are the regular size of coat-wrapped pills – not the easiest to swallow, but they get delivered to the stomach safely. Just take them with a tall glass of water.
