Excellent source of iron that’s easy on the tummy.
This liquid Iron Bisglycinate is very easy to take in a little 4oz cup of water. There’s a faint essence of aftertaste that reminds me of pennies, but that’s about it, and I take it with a meal anyway so that gets wiped out immediately, haha. I have a hard time staying in a good iron range – I get anemia easily and while I don’t like the peeling nails or the ridges on them and looking so pale as to almost be translucent, it’s really the fatigue and dizziness, the headaches and feeling like I can’t get a full breath that really drives me nuts about it. I’ve tried many different iron supplements, and some are great – some give you crazy gas and constipation. (And I mean GAS. Gas that will clear a room, even the dog.) One formula a very long time ago initially gave me crazy diarrhea, and I was at a theme park that day. A THEME PARK. (Also, my bad for trying a new supplement on a morning when we took a trip.)This has been a very gentle on my stomach and intestines, and I really feel like it’s making nice changes. My nails look SO much better, and my skin (which is always already pale) is no longer sallow and unhealthy looking. Those are just the visible changes I could see, but I definitely feel a lot better. More energy, not feeling lightheaded every time I stand up too quickly, and I’ve definitely had less headaches lately. The dosage is 1-2ml per day; I’m just taking 1ml per day in a little 4oz cup of water, super easy to take and I sneak in a little extra water for the day. There’s a little vitamin C which helps your body absorb the iron, and some B vitamins which help you make healthy red blood cells. The copper helps your body absorb that iron from your intestines – so everything in this is working together to make this iron super effective.At 1ml per day, this will last me 2 months making this a great value. I’ve also used Magnesium gummy bears from this company and they were excellent.

I’ve only had experience with the more traditional ferrous sulfate, and it’s never been a fun experience. It irritates my stomach and tastes awful.Well, enter the world of ferrous bisglycinate. It’s a whole new ballgame. It’s chelated, so it has better absorption, and because of some chemical process that I’ll admit I can’t explain other than to say that the iron stays bound to the glycine with ferrous bisglycinate, it doesn’t cause the stress and irritation in the gut, so I don’t get the nausea, cramps, and constipation. It also requires significantly lower doses to achieve the same result.The problem is that it is about 4 times as expensive as ferrous sulfate. Sometimes, though, the cost is worth the benefits.This bottle has 60 servings for children ages 4 to 13, or 30 servings for ages 14 to adults. Well, except on one spot in their ad, it says it is for ages 3 to 13. So, if you have kids, do your research.I’m really glad that the dropper has markings on the stem. So many supplements don’t have that, which drives me bonkers. It is hard to dose without knowing how much you are drawing up into the dropper.The taste is good. I was going to add it to water to dilute the taste, but it actually doesn’t need that. It tastes fine directly on its own.
