    Feeling much better taking Dr. Mercola Curcumin

    I am really glad I decided to try Dr. Mercola Organic Curcumin Extract. My doctor had recommended that I start taking turmeric and in my research on what kind to take I started to read about Curcumin. When I seen this come up on Vine I decided to give it a try. I had never heard of Dr. Mercola brand before this. What a great discovery!These arrived wrapped in lots of bubble wrap and tape. I think you could have stepped on these and the glass bottle would have been just fine. After cutting the bottle out of its protective cushion I found it well sealed with another wrap around the metal lid. Under that lid was another seal on top rim of the bottle. Inside the bottle was cotton. Lots of cotton. It was well packed in there. I had to get the tweezers out to get hold of it pull it all out. I figure this was supposed to keep the tablets from getting powderised to much. Mine was a nice bright orange/yellow color. I don’t know what more could have been done to keep these tablets from becoming rough around the edges other then adding more coating to them but then that’s the reason what make these better with less being better.I have been taking these for a couple of weeks now. They are small and easy to take other than getting orange fingers. I can’t take NSAIDs and the swelling/pain in joints of fingers is much better. At first I wasn’t aware that these could help with weight loss. When I first seen this I thought I could see that due to reducing inflammation that you would loose some water weight. Then I started finding after taking this in the afternoon I wasn’t hungry at dinner and am struggling to eat. I’m not looking for something to snack on in the evening. This is a big plus for me as I have been trying to loose weight. My mood has improved in that I’m more relaxed, with things not bothering me like they had been. I do find I am more laid back or content. Maybe its the letting up of aching joints all the time that I’m able to relax better or its the Curcumin thats relaxing. Either way I’ll take it.The potency of these is great. I do see others saying it should have pepper in it for better absorption. I am happy that it does not. I have an allergy to pepper and this makes this a great supplement that I am able to take. I have been taking it with krill oil and it has been working very well for me.

    Powerful!

    These are VERY expensive even for a 3-month supply, but it’s a trusted brand and a great supplement. I recommend if you can get past the cost.This Dr. Mercola Curcumin comes in a small tablet (instead of a capsule), which dissolves quickly and is easy to swallow. It has no flavor that is noticeable, but if it gets wet at all, it starts to disintegrate immediately and has a grainy texture. It causes no stomach upset or other side effects for me, and while I take it for inflammation, I still have a lot of inflammation and pain and a general decrease in energy, but I think the curcumin is effective as much as it can be (there are other things going on so this is a support, not a fix-all).In short, this is a great wellness supplement that costs a premium but is easy to take.

    Minor Improvement in Morning Soreness, No Side Effects

    The bottle arrived well sealed with both an outer tamper seal and an inner freshness seal under the cap. Inside, there’s a cotton insert to keep the tablets from shifting or breaking during shipping. The tablets themselves are uncoated, which I prefer, and despite the bright yellow color, the powder has not stained my hands.I’ve been taking this daily for about 30 days. The effects have been subtle. I’ve noticed a very minor improvement in soreness, mainly in the mornings. I still wake up a bit sore, but it’s slightly less than before. I continue to do about 10 minutes of mobility work each morning, which helps with the remaining stiffness.I have not experienced any side effects such as stomach upset or digestive issues.One of the reasons I chose this product is the focus on absorption. Curcumin is typically difficult for the body to absorb, but this formula uses micronized particles and a colloidal suspension designed to improve bioavailability. It also being organic is a plus.     I take Dr. Mercola supplements on a regular basis and view them as a trusted well established brand. This organic curcumin extract seems to be consistent with their typical good quality. They advertise that they use micronized curcumin particles and a special colloidal suspension to maximize bioavailability and absorption. This seems to be in lieu of the more common black pepper extract. I appreciate that this is an organic non gmo vegan product. It’s a fairly clean formula but does contain a number of other ingredients that aren’t extremely common. They are all clearly listed in the product description.The tablets are packaged in a dark glass bottle. It arrived double quality sealed and fresh with plenty of shelf life remaining. The tablets are tiny and round. They aren’t disintegrating or degraded in any way, but trace amounts of orange do seem to transfer to the cotton ball inside (but not to my hands when I handle them). They are nearly odorless, but smell faintly, kind of similar to rice cakes. They are very easy to swallow and tasteless. I definitely can’t taste the turmeric.They don’t cause me any stomach upset, indigestion or other side effects. I don’t notice a huge difference in my overall pain level, energy level or sleep quality. The effects are no better or worse that other high quality forms of curcumin I’ve taken. I hope it benefits my overall level of inflammation but don’t have dramatic results, as is the case with most supplements. This formula is a bit pricy at the current price of $72.97 for a 3 month supply, but not outrageous especially if you value an organic product with traceable, sustainably grown turmeric.
