    A Soothing Daily Ritual

I’ve been trying to incorporate more healthy habits into my routine, so I decided to give Dark Obsession Green Tea a try. I appreciate that it’s 100% natural with no added sugar or artificial flavors – just pure green tea leaves! The aroma is really fresh and invigorating – a subtle grassy scent that’s very calming. The taste is smooth and mild, not bitter like some other green teas can be. It’s perfect for enjoying hot in the morning or iced on a warm afternoon.I’ve been drinking about two cups a day as part of my daily routine, and I definitely feel more refreshed and energized. While I can’t attribute it solely to the tea, I have noticed an improvement in my digestion. It’s also a nice way to stay hydrated throughout the day.Overall, Dark Obsession Green Tea is a fantastic choice for anyone looking for a healthy and delicious beverage – and it’s offered at a good value for a high-quality loose leaf tea like this! I will definitely be repurchasing when I run out.

A Loose Leaf Green Tea That Converts the Doubtful

Unpacking this loose leaf green tea left me with a strong first impression of quality. The leaves appear fresh and whole, which immediately suggests careful sourcing and minimal processing. As someone who enjoys green tea not just for its flavor but for the ritual and overall experience, this product delivered in several key ways.First the aroma is gratifying. Once I opened the container a light vegetal scent rose up—not grassy in an unpleasant way, but more like fresh cut greenery with a gentle hint of natural sweetness. That sets a positive tone and is a good indicator that the leaves were handled well. When brewed the liquid had a clean, clear hue and no murkiness or residue, which again speaks to the care in manufacture. In terms of flavor the tea is smooth and well‐balanced. There is enough body to give it presence, but no sharp bitterness or stringy aftertaste, which can afflict lesser green teas. I found the vegetal notes pleasant, a subtle sweetness, and a light crispness that made it quite drinkable on its own. I appreciate teas that can be enjoyed without needing to mask them with sugar or milk, and this one fits that bill nicely. The preparation was straightforward too. I chose a moderate temperature water and an appropriate steep time and the result was consistently good. The loose leaf format adds value in my view because it gives you more control over strength and taste compared to bagged alternatives. The leaves appear to re‐steep decently which is another plus.If I were to offer a minor caveat it would be that for those who prefer ultra‐nutty or roasted green tea profiles this one leans more toward the fresh vegetal side rather than deep toasty. That is not a flaw just a preference issue. Also if you are steeping multiple times you may find the later infusions slightly lighter in body, though still pleasant. Neither of these points feels like a negative in the broader context of enjoying the tea.In summary this loose leaf green tea offers excellent value for the price. It reflects good leaf quality, appealing aroma, smooth flavor and versatility in preparation. If you are looking for a green tea that is refined yet approachable, that you can drink daily without heaviness or gimmicks, this is a strong choice. I am happy to give it five stars and will continue to use it as part of my regular tea ritual.

Nice Taste, Great Tea!Nice Taste, Great Tea!

One teaspoon of loose leaves per cup of tea is what is required to make a nice, soothing cup of hot green tea. Use hot, but not boiling, water to steep the leaves for a few minutes before consuming. Boiling water can make the tea become bitter tasting. This is a great way to wind down the day after dinner, relaxing with a hot cup of tea, especially now that the fall evenings are becoming colder. I drink green tea for both the taste and the purported health benefits and this product works well into my goal. I enjoy the tea with a bit of honey. If using 1 teaspoon of loose leaves/serving, this product will produce 10 cups of tea, and will cost about $0.50/cup. You can stretch it out a bit further by removing the leaves after steeping (so the tea doesn’t become bitter and too strong) and reusing them for a 2nd cup, with a longer steeping time, to eek out more from the already used leaves.

Terrible. It advertised at $.021 per ounce. It is about 5x that amount. Never would have purchased if the cost per ounce had been correct. Difficult with images to tell exactly how much is in the container.

Very mild expensive teaVery mild expensive tea

Green tea is a staple in my house. I drink it often to quench thirst or relax after a long day. I was looking forward to tasting Dark Obsession Green Tea, especially, because it was advertised as premium hand rolled tea. In the pictures it looked like high quality, if expensive, tea. When I received the tea, I was a little disappointed that the bottle was plastic and not glass. It is not advisable to store tea in plastic anything, especially, if it’s premium. Plastic can leach into the tea and does not provide the best protection against sun, moisture, and air. Lack of ideal tea storing conditions can greatly diminish tea quality.I drink a lot of tea, and green tea is one of my favorites, because it has robust, but not imposing flavor. I followed directions and put 4 leaves in a cup, covered it and infused for 3-4 minutes. There was almost no color and/or smell. I tried the tea and it did not have any taste at all. I repeated the process with triple the number of leaves and infused it for 10 min. The tea was light yellow and had a very faint smell and taste of green tea. I think, to get any taste from this tea, you need to get at least 15-20 leaves per cup, or a teaspoon+. The leaves do unravel pretty in the cup, but produce little taste.Another factor that is contributing to my three-star review is the price. At the time I got it, the price for less than 1.5 oz. of this premium tea was $20 (which is not too bad for a premium tea). However, it is too expensive for low flavor tea in a plastic bottle. I know that quality hand rolled teas are very expensive, but they usually produce more flavor and do not come in plastic. There are better alternatives (even organic) available out there, especially at this price point.

    Light green tea.Light green tea.

These are hand-rolled green teas leaves so it doesn’t come cheap. The flavor is very light and mild; not strong and overpowering at all.The instructions state you only use 3-4 leaves for every cup so this will actually last you many cups of tea.

Flavorful loose leaf green teaFlavorful loose leaf green tea

I have enjoyed this tea so far for morning and afternoon brew. The tea leaves are strong and bold. I like to drink it as is but a bit of honey or brown sugar is also appropriate. The jar is also effective in keeping the tea leaves fresh and can also be re-used as a kitchen container once done. Overall, it tastes great and a nice way to have caffeine while also packed with antioxidant. For the price range of sub-$20, this loose leaves pack is reasonable and comparable to other boutique brands on the market.
