Seems like it works, but its kind of pricy
I got this cutting drink mix because I was interested in the combination of berberine, htp, yerba mate, and magnesium to help with appetite and overall wellness. The strawberry acai flavor is light and pleasant without tasting like a typical supplement, and the individual packets are convenient for travel. I noticed that I felt fuller after meals, had fewer cravings, and felt a little more balanced, while I also experienced a small boost in energy in a relaxed and slightly “floaty” feeling, although it was not enough for me to consider it an energy drink. The downsides are that it does not dissolve very well and tends to leave clumps unless dissolved fully in warm/hot water first and the price feels high for 30 servings. The powder seems to be made with quality ingredients even though the mixability could be improved. Overall, I think it is a decent tasting supplement with a good ingredient profile that may help with appetite control for some people, but the high price, clumping, and limited manufacturing information make it harder for me to fully recommend.

I ordered this when I saw the 5-HPT. Anything with 5-HTP will be interesting. (If you don’t know, 5-HTP is a serotonin precursor, so it’s used to elevate one’s mood). I don’t think I’d personally use this for energy but it has been fine during the daytime for me.It’s really important to be aware of how a couple of these ingredients will affect you before you dive in. The magnesium citrate is literally a laxative, first and foremost. I believe this is completely intentional since this is a “Cutting Mix”. The intention is weight-loss and this will help with that. I PERSONALLY did not experience any noticeable changes from having one packet a day, however everyone’s body chemistry is different so it may affect you much differently. The magnesium may make you a bit drowsy too.For some people, 5-HTP can give them very weird, very vivid dreams, as well as causing some drowsiness. I think the mild drowsiness is cancelled out by the caffeine from the yerba mate. I don’t find it to be especially energy-providing either, but it’s a nice balance.I think the effectiveness and appetite control are pretty good. It’s a good cutting mix, but I don’t think i’d consider it an energy mix at all.The flavor is great, it tastes really good. It doesn’t taste like drinking a multivitamin. The flavor is light and not overly sweet. For some reason, it’s like hugely hydrophobic, so if you don’t have a frother then you’ll be mixing for a while. It’s super easy with a frother though, or presumably a mixing tumbler.

I do like the flavor but the mix is rather weak and the powder is difficult to dissolve
I’ve now tried 3 of this type of “cutting mix” Yerba Mate drink and while they have slight differences, all of them seem to have a problem with clumping and being difficult to mix, though this one wasn’t the worst. For whatever reason just doesn’t want to dissolve quickly or cleanly, so I have to wait awhile and eventually the clumps go away. Ignoring the difficulty of mixing, it ends up being one of the better tasting yerba mate drinks but the strength is weak and I need to use 50% more to double the amount of powder I uses from other types of similar mixes so the value for money is less than it should be with these. This was $40 at the time I got it, for 30 servings which is very expensive but I see that its been reduced to under $20 now which isn’t bad. Besides being refreshing I feel pretty good after drinking it and this is one of my go-to’s when I’m trying to cycle off of my caffeine heavy powders and while the dissolvability issue can be annoying it isn’t a dealbreaker.

What’s Making Up the Other 4.5 Grams?
This supplement contains a few ingredients I know well: berberine, yerba mate extract, 5-HTP, chromium, cinnamon, and ginger. The formula appears to be aimed more at appetite control and blood sugar management than the typical stimulant-heavy “fat burner,” and for me that’s a plus.What really caught my attention, though, was the packet itself.Each serving contains 6 grams of powder, but the listed active ingredients account for only a small fraction of that weight. That immediately made me curious about what makes up the rest of the packet.Even more interesting, the drink has almost no taste.That’s surprising because berberine is famously bitter, and yerba mate isn’t exactly known for being flavorless either. Yet when mixed with water, I found the result to be extremely light—much closer to water than to a typical powdered drink mix. Where’s the bitterness? And if you’re masking it with something, where’s that?Overall, I came away pretty unimpressed. We’re asked to trust that the listed ingredients are present in the stated amounts, but even if they are, the active ingredients account for only a fraction of the packet weight while the majority of the powder remains a mystery. The bottom line is that I simply don’t know what most of this product actually is, and for me, that’s a deal breaker on a product marketed for its effect on the body.3 stars. There are some interesting ingredients here, but after doing the math, I’m still left wondering. Is what they’re promising to be in here really in here? And what’s making up the other 4.5 grams?

Delicious Acai Strawberry Cutting Mix
The berberine and yerba mate cutting mix had thirty stick servings per container. It contained allulose, stevia leaf extract, and natural fruit powder. This powdery mix had a very delicious, slightly sweet, fruity acai strawberry flavor. It was a hard to mix with a spoon. A frother made it much easier and quicker. It still did not mix all the way. I used the frother on a high setting. I let it sit for a few minutes. Then I stirred it with a spoon to mix everything together. I stirred it into cold water. Higher temperature water caused it to clump up. Cold water was the way to go. My cravings disappeared within the second day. I saw a few less pounds on the scale. I believe eating smaller portions, eating better food, and increasing my activity level also contributed. I enjoyed it every day. I experienced good results with these changes. I experienced no side effects.

I guess this cutting mix is OK. It has an OK flavor. I started out following the instructions but it was quite sweet. Then I started using this with a 16.9 ounce bottle of water. It doesn’t mix in the greatest. I have just been dumping this in the bottle and then shaking it. It works best to shake it a bunch, let it sit for a bit, and then shake it up more. I haven’t noticed any grittiness or anything like that. I do keep shaking it periodically between drinks. I’m not sure that this is doing anything for me. I have been using this for a few days and I haven’t noticed any change. I already drink quite a bit of yerba each day so that might be why. I like my yerba and I had assumed that I would like this too. I really don’t. I think that I will just stick with my yerba. I don’t think that I would get this again. Another thing that seems kind of odd is I found this exact container with different a different brand and different wording online at a big box store.
