No effect–What an unfortunate surprise from a company I trust

I’ve been using Kava as a tool to mitigate anxiety for nearly 30 years, and I know exactly what to expect. Unfortunately, I did not get any of the benefits I expected–I had absolutely no effects from this one. I was actually surprised because Codeage is one of my favorite supplement companies, and I’ve had excellent results with several of their formulas–one for hormones, one for allergies and several multivitamins.The capsules are mild-smelling and easy to swallow. I had no digestive upset at all with them. The dose is just two capsules, and the kava is standardized to 30% kavalactones in a liposomal delivery system. I was genuinely surprised not to feel any effects at all.Ordinarily, I’m happy to pay Codeage’s prices–in my experience their supplements are very high quality and well-formulated. In this case, when I ordered this supplement, I would have been very disappointed to pay $49.99 for an herb whose effects are very familiar to me only to find that it did nothing.

Wonderful Product

I received these pills a while ago and I finally am giving them my review. I did not take daily because it is a pill that you take occasionally. It seems to work really well for me this way. The ingredients are right on, and the potency is perfect for me. It really does help with the calm and relaxation of the nerves.

Not worth the inflation

When I ordered this is thought , wow , this must be some high quality kava and a good amount for the price tag ($50 at the time of ordering ) well they sure got me .The bottle came and I was super surprised to see just how tiny the bottle is . Not sure why but the picture in the ad made me think it was much larger . But then I open It and …. It’s barely a third full . Last pic shows how full by where my finger is . What a waste of packaging and a deceitful trick. Also , I have limited space in my supplement and med cabinet , so the fact that this could be much smaller means that I’m prob gonna be looking around for something else to stick these in now . That aggravates me.Ok I thought , well maybe it’s still very potent for this much . So I took Two as suggested . Now , I have even taking kava for years on and off , whenever I’m having a particular rough day , if my nerves are shot , if I’m feeling angry like I’m gonna blow a fuse, or if I’m having some more substantial anxiety. Some studies suggested that heavy long term use could be bad for the liver , so this is not something I take Every day.Anyway , I have Another bottle of kava that I usually Take , which has the same level of 30% kavalactones, and I thought This bottle had more potency, but upon comparing them I realized that this is only 50mg more per pill. Still more , so I waited To see . Now given the situation so far, being aggravated, made for the perfect opportunity to test its effectiveness to calm and soothe . Well I didnt Feel a thing . Normally at less of a dose I do . This was concerning . I let Some more time go by to make sure and (not suggesting you do the same ) I took Two more . At that point I felt Like it actually did a little something .For me , kava is like natures Valium , and by that I do Not mean it’s as strong , natures stuff usually isn’t , but just effective . Now I usually get another brand on here on Amazon for about 10-15 a bottle , and it has almost the same amount per pill and half the doses and they usually actually work . So I cant Say this is a good value at all, at almost 5 times the amount for twice the amount and less effective to me .They claim to be better than your average supplements and I find That claim to not have any truth to me . It made me more curious about why and looking at the added supplements to help along , it had a very very small amount of magnesium (100mg) , practically ineffective to me . Not only that but it says glycinate and oxide , together , and does not say how much of each . Glycinate is very good but oxide is not . Magnesium oxide can cause gastrointestinal distress and is said to be the worst absorbed magnesium . So it does not seem like a great addition worth the extra money . Since it doesn’t boast how much is glycinate over oxide, I can Only imagine that it’s more oxide than anyone would care for .The l-theanine is a good addition . It’s only 100mg but that can be a slightly effective dose .I do Appreciate that it claims non gmo , gluten free , soy free , and cGMP certified . Made in USA but using ‘globally sourced ingredients’ and does not say where . I do Not see third party testing info . These are basic things we should expect from our supplements.It is kava .check . it can work , check, but it states not to do what I did and take more than the standard dose to do so . It is small and smooth and easy to take . There is no erroneous odor or flavor . Check .If this was even half the price I would give it a better review . This just seems like crazy inflation to me, and under the guise of being better . It’s in a plastic bottle , not glass like some higher end supplements . I see No justification for this price whatsoever. .It’s not bad . It’s just no where near as great as it claims and not worth the cost.
