    Great Morning Pre-Workout Energy Without the Jitters

    I’ve been working out much more frequently first thing in the morning lately, so I’ve been looking for a pre-workout that gives me enough energy to get moving without leaving me feeling overstimulated or dealing with an afternoon crash. This one has fit that role really well.I’ve been using it regularly before my morning workouts, and the energy level feels very balanced for me. It provides enough of a boost to help me wake up and feel motivated to train, but it doesn’t create the shaky, jittery feeling that some higher-stimulant pre-workouts can cause. Even when I take it on an empty stomach, it has been easy on my system and hasn’t caused any stomach discomfort.The Mixed Berry flavor is also surprisingly good. It’s flavorful without being overly sweet or artificial tasting. I usually add a scoop to a large bottle of water along with a few other supplements I take before heading to the gym, and it mixes in easily. The taste is pleasant enough that I actually look forward to drinking it.I also like the ingredient profile. The combination of citrulline, beta-alanine, betaine, tyrosine, taurine, rhodiola, and natural caffeine feels geared toward both energy and workout performance rather than relying solely on a huge caffeine dose. It includes L-Citrulline, Beta-Alanine, Betaine, Taurine, L-Tyrosine, and Rhodiola, so it checks a lot of the boxes I look for in a pre-workout formula.The energy boost felt clean and fairly steady. I didn’t get that jittery or overstimulated feeling that some pre-workouts can cause, but I definitely noticed improved focus and motivation once I got into my workout. The beta-alanine tingles were there, although not overwhelmingly strong.Mixability was pretty good as well. I used a shaker bottle and it dissolved without much effort. There was occasionally a tiny bit of powder left behind, but nothing out of the ordinary for a supplement like this. The Mixed Berry flavor was actually pretty decent. It’s flavorful without being overly sweet, which I appreciated. Codeage took aa different approach with their Pre-Workout formula, and I ended up appreciating that more.For the first several uses, I noticed clean energy but nothing dramatic. Honestly, I wondered if it might be a little too mild. Then after a couple of weeks, I realized I was finishing workouts with the same level of focus that I’d started with instead of fading halfway through. That’s ultimately what I wanted.The mixed berry flavor is easy to drink and doesn’t linger afterward. It dissolves well enough that I’m not chewing through clumps at the end of the bottle.The ingredient blend is well thought out. L-citrulline, beta-alanine, betaine, taurine, L-tyrosine, rhodiola, and natural caffeine from green tea all make sense together for supporting workout performance and concentration. I experienced a light tingling from the beta-alanine early on, but otherwise it was easy on my stomach and never made me feel overstimulated.I’ve trusted Codeage for a while because their products have generally been consistent, and this one fits that pattern. It’s priced above some basic pre-workouts, is only 30 servings, but the quality of the formula makes the extra cost easier to justify.

    Dissolves completely

    Unlike some pre workouts I have tried, this stuff is pretty soluble, even though it can settle if left, it is still clean tasting after a good shake with seemingly no residue.Boost for me at the moment is not dramatic, but I’m experimenting with timing.Caffeine is a nice addition, helps the stamina.Flavor is pleasant, berry flavors.Found it to be a little high priced, but overall it seems like a solid product.4 stars

    Easy to use. Has a bit of a smell

    I’ve implemented this pre-workout for a few weeks now, and safe to say, it’s one of my favorites. Using this helped me curb out on my caffeine intake with coffee, as this one has caffeine that I can use instead. The taste isn’t too noticeable when mixing it, and it comes without alacrity flavor. Any shake, there seems to not be any residual residue, which helps with the texture. The smell is a bit off-putting, but easy to put off once it’s mixed in. Very easy to use for my early mornings.

    $54 for 12 oz Feels Overpriced

    This Codeage Pre-Workout arrived sealed with no damage. It’s a 12 oz tub with L-citrulline, beta-alanine, betaine, L-tyrosine, taurine, Rhodiola , and 150 mg caffeine from green tea.I’ve used it before workouts. The mixed berry mixes fine and there’s the usual beta-alanine tingle, but overall I wasn’t impressed.The biggest issue is the price. $54 for 12 oz is high. My whey protein costs about the same and you get 2 lbs. For the amount you get, the price point is too high.

    Clean energy, another Codeage fave

    I’m a big fan of the Codeage line of supplements so I was very excited to see a new Pre-Workout product added to their lineup! I take several other products from Codeage on a daily basis in my supplement stack and I love when they come out with new products because I have SO much trust in their high standards for quality and ingredients. They even have a teen line that I give to my high school athletes. Needless to say I was very excited to see this pre-workout added to the lineup! I am very particular about flavors of pre-workout products I have tried. I don’t want something that is overly sweet or tart, and I can’t stand the ones that make you tingly or jittery. Upon opening the canister the product had a very nice, light berry scent to it. The flavor is just perfect… not too tart, not overly artificially sweet tasting. One serving (one scoop of the included scooper) contains 150 mg of caffeine from green tea. I workout in the mornings so this is just the right amount to get some pep in my step for an early workout. I found the effects to be a nice clean energy source… no feelings of the jitters and thankfully none of those tingly sensations that many other pre-workouts provide. This is not loaded with any artificial colors either, it is very natural looking when you mix it up. Having used this for several days now, I can say this is one of my all time favorite pre-workout products! It provides me with enough clean energy to get through a couple hours of any variety of workouts… run/hike/cycle/hiit/row/weight training all tested and approved. Never disappointed with anything I’ve tried from Codeage!
