This supplement seems to have a solid formulation, it has a variety of what I consider to be staple nutrients like C, D and selenium that I try to take for general health and because I do not believe in the sun. Though the primary reason for this supplement to me is the carotenoid blend. Which, in theory, can help with pseudo tanning and eye health – both things I am seriously in need of. I personally haven’t seen too much of a difference yet, except for maybe a slight abatement of allergy symptoms but I will trust the process.The dropper for dosing came clogged for me, I was able to easily unclog it with a toothpick and it wasn’t a problem after that. The liquid is fairly viscous so I can see how some settlement may occur during storage but with daily usage and it being a nonrecurring issue, I wouldn’t fault it for being dense with what in this case is nutrients. The dropper shows measurements from .25 to 1mL for dosing, the full dose is several droppers.I find the taste to be an uncanny mix of acidity, sweetness and bitterness. What first came to mind is a black cherry type of flavor, though the label says “peach mango” which I can also see. It’s acceptable but not good, like the taste of a childs medicine. The color is a dark, dull red, likely from all of the carotenoids. I find the flavor an interesting enough novelty, and I’m not repulsed by it, but I can see how some might balk. I prefer my supplements as pure as possible so if anything I’d want to remove the flavorant with no regard for how it effects taste.I do like the idea of a liquid instead of capsules and this product is likely best for those who like to avoid pills or want to mix the compound into other liquids or food. You can get a large dose of supplement without taking multiple pills.

Versatile liquid formula

This is a versatile liquid formula that has strong antioxidant supports as well as some essential vitamins. I also take supplements for thyroid health, so I appreciate the selenium added in this. I like that this is a glycerin extract so the flavor is on the sweeter side, and I don’t have to worry about the strong alcohol base, which I really don’t like. The flavor is kind of funky, though, and not my favorite. For this reason alone, I think I will stick to softgels in the future. I have a hard time swallowing, so I will do liquid drops as often as I can, with softgels as my second choice and capsules as my third. I was really hoping I would like this as the liquid is so much easier to take. The taste on this line is just off enough to push me towards the softgels. I got this primarily for the Astaxanthin, but taking a whole teaspoon is a bit much to get the 12 mg. If you can get over the taste, then this would be a good product. But for me, I will try different variations in the future. As far as value goes, right now it’s listed around $20 for 30 servings. This seems pretty steep for me for what you are getting. I did not notice any energy boost or other benefits when taking this. Because of this lack of effectiveness and the strange taste, I will pass next time.

Make sure to check ingredient label closely

This is basically a “kitchen sink” of supplements. It came well packaged wrapped in bubble-wrap. The bottle is extremely dark so really can’t see inside without putting a light behind the bottle. Opening the bottle the first time was a little difficult since the rubber stopper was firmly stuck to the glass bottle. With a little prying it finally came up. This is also when I realized my first mistake which was not seeing the very tiny “shake well before use” lettering on the back. Without shaking, there is a very thick sediment at the bottom that prevents the dropper from working properly. Even after a hard 45+ second shake, there was still some sediment stuck to the bottom but now could get a full dropper. The color is a dark reddish-brown (to be expected since several ingredients are actually normally used as food coloring’s). Definitely be careful since it will stain if dropped on something that is a light color.The bottle lists the flavor as “peach mango” which is roughly what it tastes like. Overall not bad tasting as far as supplements go. Taken directly, the taste lingers in your mouth for a while (10+ minutes) and has a slight metallic after-taste. It is not unpleasant but still lingers even after drinking water or tea. The better way to take this seems to be to add it directly to a smoothie.The one issue I have is the labeling. In huge letters it says “Astraxanthin, +Lycopene,” and “L-Tyrosine” on the front. However, if you look at the ingredients the amount of these is tiny. Based on my understanding of the ingredient label, it is 1% of 12mg of Astraxanthin (roughly 1/50 of allowed daily intake as a food coloring), 5% of 29mg of Lycopene (roughly equivalent to eating 1/3 of a tomato), and 100mg of L-Tyrosine (roughly 1/40 of a normal dose). It does indicate a high amount of Vitamin C (278%) and Selenium (364%) so at least that is good. However, if you are getting this for the “big lettering” ingredients that are prominently displayed on the bottle, then look elsewhere.
