Licorice Root Extract has so many health benefits when taken in moderation. I take about 1/4 tsp a day with tea because of it’s healing properties for breathing as well as your stomach. I am not crazy about the test so that takes some getting used to. I also do not like the packaging. The zipper pouch will not stay closed.But it’s a good price for the product and the product is of good quality.

I bought this product based on the positive reviews in regards to helping with digestive issues. I’ve only been using it for a week and so far so good. If you like black licorice, which I do, you will like the taste. I drink it in hot water in the evening and for me not only does it help my digestive issues it also acts as a treat. The amount of powder you get is large, considering you only use a quarter of a teaspoon.

Synthetic glycyrrhizin. Probably still good though
I like real licorice, and I’m a chemist. Based on boiling this up & tasting it, I believe this is made from synthetic glycyrrhizin & caramel color. I’ve had many great products from Bulksupplements, but I think I’ll realize now that they’re primarily a chemical company. This is probably fine for whatever medical/supplement use people are using it for, but it tastes nothing like licorice, and I kind of wish they didn’t add caramel coloring, which is the same coloring added to many sodas. Caramel coloring has a distinctive taste, and I believe they’ve only added it here to give the impression that this is from real licorice root. People need to know there are very few regulations on naming, and words like “concentrate” or “extract” don’t mean what you think they do. I like glycyrrhizin for its anti-fungal properties & this may be fine for such uses.

This is definitely licorice root with the characteristic sweet taste. It will not take like licorice candy so if you expect that and think it’s not licorice you are mistaken.It works just like I expect licorice to work and is easy to take. The taste is sweet so it’s pleasant.I’ve tried many BulkSupplements products and they all have been high quality and as expected. Plus it’s cheaper than capsules as well.

Getting back to Healthy!
I’m building my arsenal of ‘getting back to healthy’, some of the supplements don’t taste so good but the Licorice does. I mix it with my Nettle extract in a tea, I love it! I’m not sure which supplement is doing the most but I was in so much pain with fibromyalgia I could barely get around, I stopped eating grains and sugar and am in the process of getting every supplement that will help, thanks to Bulk Supplement for making this affordable, I am on the road to recovery, not near as much pain. I will continue this journey until I am 100% cured.

Easy to use
I thought I was purchasing a dry leafy root but instead received a powder. That turned out to be better for my teas. I was reading up on one of the 3 that I had purchased that it did not dissolve well in water…well! Guess what..it did all 3 took very well to the hot boiling water.The licorice root, marshmallow root and Slippery Elm did very well. I could not afford the other cleanse teas on the market so you have to do it yourself.These 3 added with Seena leaf which is what you see in the video is my personal cleanse and it works for my body. I cannot use the suggestions as stated on package. I had to go by what water gallons I use and eye ball it from there.The taste of the roots powder are not bad, the licorice root has a little sweetness to it but if you need a little “not natural” tasting tea I suggest adding a sweetener. I don’t mind the taste. It does not lump up in the water as you can see, and it is easy to swallow doe not feel weird when you swallow it. Even with the Senna added.*Disclaimer this is my own personal mix of powder so you mix at your risk, I do not claim to be a mixologist, doctor, professional geologist or anything of that nature. This stuff is so good! 1/4 tsp in hot water, perfect yummy drink. I added a little monk fruit sweetener, but I’m not sure it needed it. I’ll update this if I notice health benefits. I just wanted to say that it is delicious. And please just put it in a jar! Who cares about the package?! Put it in a jar. Much more convenient.

This herb in powdered form can be added or mixed/ blended into your favorite beverage of shake. Very effective!
