    I decided to start using my nutribullet and add various spices and seeds to hopefully begin a journey to better health. Unfortunately I’m not a gourmet taster, but blended together with a few greens and a bit of fruit I have been enjoying downing them. I can’t say for certain what each individual ingredient has done, but the combination has been working. I also was given some essential oils that I have been using too.I am mixing: beautiful love organics raw cacao, terrasoul raw cacao, healthworks raw cacao, viva labs raw cacao, seagate products lemon powder concentrate, bulksupplements cranberry extract, bs ginger root extract, bs cinnamon bark extract, bs beet root powder, bs 5htp, bs hyaluronic acid, bs 95% curcumin, bs 50% green tea, dualspices nutmeg powder, now foods inulin prebiotic fos, hoosier hill farm paprika, quinoa, sesame seed, flax seed, hemp kernels, raw pumpkin seed and chia seed.The bulksupplements products are very fine powder, not strongly flavored, mix very well into smoothies or peanut butter; but they can get messy fast. I ended up a bit sticky and stained, but I did mix enough for a couple weeks.We have been not wanting to eat for 2 to 4 hours after getting up and not wanting a third meal. We are dreaming like we’re insain. Momma is pooping like she hasn’t pooped in years. My heartburn is gone and blood pressure is slightly down. I’ll try to add more if I notice anything else happening and can attribute it to any individual substance.

    Nothing to Write Home About

    This is a pleasant to take powdered ginger extract supplement–because it is not as strong as other commonly found extracts nor is it as rich in the protective gingerols and shogaols. There is no breakdown of these components on the package, so I checked the website: (“1.5-1.8% shogaols and UP TO (capitalization is mine) 3.5% gingerols”. The “UP TO” indicates that there may be significantly less than 3.5%. Most extracts on the market provide at least 5% gingerols, a few up to 20%. Unextracted ginger contains from 1-2.5% pungent compounds, so this isn’t that much of an extract. Frankly, I have had dried ginger powder that tastes much stronger than this, and that has a much more complex delicious flavor. There are several places, including Penzeys Spices, that sell a far superior product, although the powder they offer is not extracted at all, simply dried, it packs a much bigger punch and tastes as though there are a great many more beneficial compounds of all varieties (ginger has hundreds of compounds that probably contribute to its wonderful anti-inflammatory, anti-cancer, and anti-alzheimer’s effects.) All in all I feel this is a mediocre extract from a mediocre grade of ginger. Having said that, I will use it and enjoy it. One of the drawbacks of highly extracted ginger is that it is so pungent just opening the bag can make you sneeze even if you’re standing all the way across the room. This powder certainly does not do that. I don’t feel it is bad, and if it works for you, great, but there are stronger extracts-and even stronger ginger powders-available on Amazon and elsewhere.

    I take ginger every day for its anti inflammatory and anti nausea properties, this is much cheaper than capsules and makes the rest of my supplements taste better mixed in.

    This is arguably the worst ginger root powder I have ever bought

    Bulk Supplements makes quality clean bulk supplements. It’s that simple – but clearly not in this case. I knew the ginger root powder was off the moment I opened the bag. I had previously for several years bought ginger root powder from frontier coop. When I open a bag of their ginger root powder it smacks you in the face with curcumin and all this vital flavonoids and terpenes, it is the full throated ginger root. Bulk supp – I don’t know what they did, but it doesn’t even look like ginger root powder, let alone smell of it. It’s like off white-yellow and I stick my face full in the bag and it’s like – denuded, or denatured. It has none of the slap you in the face, none of the vibrant ruddy deep yellows or red hues. I feel almost like its tinted talcum powder, quite honestly. And then I looked at my bag, I never saw this on a Bulk Supp product before. Usually is says “Other ingredients: none” cause duh. It’s bulk supplements, clean mean, no thrills no frills. MY bag says “Other ingredients: DEXTRIN” Yet the labels on the page say “none”. I’m not sure what to make of this because I have religiously touted bulk supplements as the go to for making your own apothecary for 1/1000th the price of compounded tablet products. But this shakes my confidence in their quality pledge/claim, especially because ginger root power (the full throated kind) is a critical part of a DIY bowel cleanse I accidently developed while playing apothecary whackamole. Bowel cleanse is..insufficient. More like bowel blast. And the flavonoid rich ginger root powder is critical in the cleanse stack. The FULL THROATED ginger root is the “roto rooter” part of the cleanse, it does marvels for any gastric distress. But this garbage, it has been a VERY painful day to say the least. Absent the full flavonoid profile, the cleanse turns in to a progressively more and more painful slog because no REAL ginger root = no “roto rooter” action = it’s all wrong and it HURTS LIKE HELL. So I would say stay away from this one kids, go to another supplier for ginger root powder, if it doesn’t smack you in the face when you open the bag it’s not proper or quality ginger root powder. Period.

    POTENT STUFF! A little goes a very loooong way

    I don’t see me needing to reorder this for a VERY loooong time. It’s definitely PURE GINGER, and extremely strong. 1st time out for a test drive with it, I used way too much. GAG reflex has nothing on me. Oh Lordie!Ever heard of “pinch of…” yeah, with this Ginger a pinch will cure your needs.I use this in cooking, will use it in baking down the road. I won’t however be using it anytime soon in any juices or drinks.. well, except maybe a complimentary Hot Tea. IF I can find one that this doesn’t over power.Not complaining. I’m just in need to learn how to fraction this down to make it taste good.So far it’s safe to say I have mastered cooking with it.My goal is to master the GINGERBREAD flavor with this product in just about everything.Smoothie, coffee, both black & white teas, as well as baked goods such as cookies, sweet breads and also actual bread.It TIS’The Season.With the amount in this bag, I don’t see me reordering for at least a 6-8 month span & that would be using it in all the things I mentioned and what ever else I can put my mind to.Ginger is a great pain reliever, so the more recipes used the better the days & nights will feel.I’ve had entirely too many injuries to not include Ginger in my day to day!* Oh, I DON’T do synthetics if at all possible *Little explanation, I fell while speed walking back to my desk about 27 months ago. My left foot hit a puddle of cleaning solvent left behind by a housekeeper who was either lazy or neglectful. I hit the floor before I knew I fell. I’ve never fell that fast in my life!I also hurt ALL over. Cracked my tailbone in the fall. Thank God for the bodies reflexes. My arms folded up under my rib cage & chest when I fell. No clue if that’s normal or not. But YAY! Otherwise my head would have met the floor more intimately than it did.My point in describing this, is to say I REALLY HURT for most all of this time.Ginger played a HUGE part in not taking any pain pills like Norco or Tylenol with COdeine.I hate the way synthetics mess with my mind, emotions, and thinking.But with Ginger, Tumeric Curcumin, and Peppermint (as a rub) i was able to survive. Not happily, but I’m no longer in need of pain pills, rubs, or patches. I won’t profess to be Gumby, but I am more bendy. For lack of a better word.I can touch my toes again. I can squat pretty decent, still needs work.With reduced pain, I have been steadily losing the stored swelling & gained weight.I literally was made to rest to heal through this.So activity has been a true & genuine blessing for me these past 4 or so months.Ginger has a large part in all this. Well that an re-introducing HMB into that mix.The 2 ingredients together have been a quicker healing than with a pain killer. Which only hides the pain, but does nothing towards the actual healing.

    Since I’m on a road to taking better care of myself, I’ve been doing a LOT of research on holistic healing and all things natural. Recently, I found out that my blood pressure is higher than normal due to weight gain and menopause. Anyway, I’ve learned that the quickest way to naturally bring down your blood pressure is by taking ginger root. I saw that BulkSupplements carry it in a powder form, so I bought it. It is bitter and the exact color of the actual whole root. The powder is VERY lightweight and whispy….be careful upon opening the bag. Also, please be aware that this product can also take your blood pressure down TOO low…keep that in mind. Everything that I’ve ordered from BulkSupplements has done as promised. I’ll update if it does not deliver. I highly recommend this product for blood pressure, JUST as their MILK thistle delivers, as well. LOVE it!Update! This stuff is amazing!
