Good Macuna, ignore the prop 65
I lived in California for 3 years and nearly EVERYTHING has a prop 65 label. The law is so broad that everyone for every product has to put it on or they will get sued. The label doesn’t mean anything, google it please. It was a great iniative that failed in execution.With that said, I do wish this was 3rd party tested for purity and had results you could look up. Supplements in general are a bigger health risk than they should be because of contamination. Macuna powder has no reason to have heavy metals in it, but it still could. This is made in India, which isn’t as big of a risk as China for heavy metals. If you want to take macuna powder, this is probably a good one. Organic and not from China are both good enough for me. I mixed a small scoop in with my smoothie and it blended in well. Anything like this is more of a long term supplement and not going to give you instant energy or brain boosts. A healthy diet and exercise will do wonders for you, not a magic supplement regime. I was pleased with this though, it blended well and I couldn’t taste it over the banana and PB.

At $10 for a large bag, this Mucuna pruriens powder is inexpensive, and I like that it contains just mucuna without a long list of additional ingredients.My biggest issue is that the label gives 1 gram of mucuna powder per serving but doesn’t specify the amount of L-DOPA. Since L-DOPA is one of the main reasons I was interested in mucuna, I would much rather buy a standardized product that tells me exactly how much I’m getting in each serving.As far as effectiveness, I haven’t noticed any improvement in my energy or focus since taking it. I haven’t experienced any noticeable side effects either. I wanted to like this Mucuna powder, especially since it’s USDA Organic, but I had a couple of issues with it. The biggest drawback is that it doesn’t mix very well. Even with plenty of stirring, it tends to clump and settle at the bottom, which makes it difficult to incorporate into a drink. I also noticed that the product comes with a lead warning, which is something I think buyers should be aware of before purchasing.Overall, I don’t mind the taste and I think it’s a good price, and while the organic certification is a plus, the poor mixability and lead warning are definitely worth considering.

Is it even safe to take? Has a lead warning
I was excited to try this organic mucuna powder, but when it arrived I noticed the California Proposition 65 warning for lead on the package. I understand that a Prop 65 warning doesn’t necessarily mean a product is unsafe, but I would feel much more comfortable if the company provided a current Certificate of Analysis (COA) showing heavy metal testing (lead, arsenic, cadmium, and mercury), along with the L-DOPA content for my specific lot. I have some health issues that make my system very sensitive to products with high heavy metals and it’s not a risk I’m willing to take.Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to find that information, and I was unable to contact the company through Amazon to request it. I tried the Amazon link to contact the seller but it wouldn’t let me submit my questions. Without documentation showing independent testing, I don’t feel comfortable consuming the product. If I’m unable to obtain those test results from the manufacturer, I’ll have to dispose of it rather than take something I’m uncertain about.I hope the company will consider making heavy metal testing results and batch-specific quality information readily available, as that would give customers much greater confidence in the product.I will hold onto this for a bit in hopes that someone can provide the info or reach out to me.
