    Tasty energy boost

    My husband does a lot of car travel for his work. He has been packing these as a little caloric boost during the day when he doesn’t have time to stop and eat a proper meal. He finds these to taste very good. They are very convenient to use – he just throws them in his bag and uses it when he is on the verge of feeling a crash. He said that they do give him a little boost of energy that he needs to make it to the end of the workday. My husband is also sensitive to caffeine, and these offer some energy without the caffeine rush and crash. One pouch costs over $3. This is about the price of a energy bar, and my husband is using it in the same way; it gets him through a busy day of not eating. I do think it is slightly overpriced. But that is the only complaint. They taste good, and do offer the boost of energy.

    B-complex infused cocoa honey

    This honey is kinda pricey for what you get: 12 single serving pouches with a couple tablespoons of B vitamin infused honey in each. You’ll definitely get an energy boost from taking this before a workout. I like cocoa and I like honey but I didn’t care for the flavor that much, it just seemed a bit off to me. I think I’ll stick to taking a daily b-complex vitamin and having a tablespoon or two of honey beefore a workout if i need the energy boost.

    Great boost during longer training sessions

    I’ve been using these during my HYROX training sessions over the past few weeks and they’ve been a solid addition. I usually take one pouch before or during longer workouts and I can definitely feel a boost in energy without anything feeling too heavy or artificial.The texture is smooth and easy to take down mid workout, which matters when you’re already pushing hard. The honey and cacao combo actually tastes pretty good, not overly sweet, just enough to make it enjoyable without feeling like you’re forcing it down.What I like most is that it’s caffeine free. I can use it later in the day or stack it with other things without worrying about being wired. It gives a steady lift and helps me keep my pace up, especially during longer circuits or endurance work.If you’re doing HYROX, long cardio sessions, or anything where you need quick fuel on the go, these are definitely worth having on hand.     These pouches taste really good and I like the fact that doesn’t have any caffeine so I can take them at the endo of the day before the gym and it gives me booster I need to work out. Super easy to carry in my gym bag and have them accessible any time I need them. It is a little pricey, but with coupons and special options you can make it more affordable.

    I’ve been using these honey and cacao gels before my training sessions lately, and they’ve been a solid addition to my gym bag. The texture is easy to take down pre or mid workout, though it can be a bit messy and sticky if you aren’t careful. The pouches aren’t perforated, so opening them on the go can be a bit tricky without a bit of fumbling.While I try to watch my carb intake, these work well as a whole food pick up. I sometimes use just half a pouch to keep the carbs under 10g while still getting that pick me up.     Good flavor and a short energy burst

    No surprises here… this is a mixture of cacao (a superfood used to make chocolate) and honey, along with some vitamins and a few other less ideal ingredients. It tastes great and the sugar from the honey primarily does give a short boost if used in advance of a workout. I really try to restrict carbs but like to get some whole food versions (rather than chemical bombs in many pre-workout drinks) when I need a pick-me-up, so this does the trick. I’ve been using half a pouch to get just a little zing while still keeping the carbs to less than 10 per use. It is 12 individual pouches in a large resealable pouch for storage. This is made in the USA and carries GMP certification. It does not have organic certification if that is important to you. It’s a great product and does what it claims. I did remove a star because the pouches aren’t perforated so opening them on the go is tricky without making a mess, and they have included the synthetic forms of B12 and B6 which I try to get from their natural, more absorbable forms whenever possible. But especially if you’re not overly concerned with carbs and are very active, these seem like a great option. I’ll use them strategically for my purposes.

    Messy and small – packaging is terrible

    Everyone likes honey and everyone likes chocolate. Put them together and call it an energy ‘food’? Well it tastes really good, I’m not sure it has much of an energy punch to it, I didn’t really feel much, maybe just a little bit from the sugar in the honey. The serving size is pretty small. The packet it comes in is just rectangular and has no perforations for tearing it neatly. I resorted to using my teeth and it ripped really unevenly and started dripping chocolate out. Trying to squeeze it into your mouth is difficult with the sharp edges of the packet. Bottom line, I’m not convinced of the effectiveness of the product, and the packaging needs a redesign, it’s just to difficult to use.

I will say it can get a little messy if you are not careful with the squeeze, so maybe do not attempt it while driving or wrangling kids at the same time.Now the taste. If you love honey and chocolate like I do, this feels more like a sweet treat than a performance product. It is rich, smooth, and indulgent. That said, it can lean pretty sweet. There are days when I can only handle about half a pouch at a time. I love sweets, but sometimes pure sweetness can be a bit much, and this definitely delivers that concentrated honey flavor. The upside is that it does not taste artificial or chemical at all.What really impressed me is how steady the energy feels. You get a noticeable boost, but not that wired feeling you sometimes get with caffeine. Even better, when it wears off, there is no crash. No sudden urge to nap on the couch when you still have laundry, dinner, and a family waiting on you.
