It’s difficult to review supplements because who really knows how effective they are for their intended use, unless you took only one supplement for a year, made no other changes, and it brought down your cholesterol 20 points or something? So all I can give you is a side-by-side comparison to the other omega-3 supplements in my cupboard.This brand (Super Smart): 1 softgel- 1000 mg total omega-3s, 300 mg EPA, 200 mg DHA.Spring Valley: 1 softgel- 1000 mg total omega-3s, 645 mg EPA, 310 mg DHA.Barleans: 1 softgel- 680 mg total omega-3s, 180 mg EPA, 120 mg DHA.Barleans is much more expensive for less potency, the pricing of the other 2 is comparable, but as far as potency, the Spring Valley is the winner. The softgels are all about the same size, which is to say, huge. I would go with the GNC mini-softgels for that consideration. For what it’s worth, Basic Brands is made in the USA by a family business, per its label, and is non-GMO and free of most allergens & mercury.

Good product
If you need or want to take extra omegas, this is a good choice. The product has a manufactured in America label, which hopefully means it is sourced here too. It also says non GMO (which doesn’t mean much considering the source is fish), and the label that matters the most to me, 0% mercury.The bottle says less chance of burping and I found this statement to be true. Even with my reflux, I didn’t burp this up. If you have ever taken a fish oil supplement and have burped it, you know how bad that is and how it can put you off the idea of supplementing all together.Overall, I would say this is one of the best brands of fish oil I have ever bought.

Omega daily dose in one pill
Like most other omega vitamins these pills are large. The daily dose is one soft gel so that is a plus. They do not smell strongly or cause excessive burping. Definitely recommend this asa quality brand for a good omega source.
