Bottle expired in November of 2024
Was pleased with how it was packed since the bottle is glass until I open the container which did have a safety seal and the smell was not pleasant. So, I removed the capsules and was going to let them air out because flaxseed can have a scent to it and then I saw the bottle expired in November of 2024. Would have used these since only one capsule is the dose I like but will not use them since they are expired. Will not purchase from this brand again.

I’ve been using the Cold Pressed Organic Flaxseed Oil 1000mg Softgels for a while now, and I’m really impressed with the price for the value you get. With 180 softgels in the bottle, it’s an incredible deal compared to other omega-3 supplements. Looks good to me
I recieved the 1,000 mg Flaxseed Oil softgels in good time. The amber glass bottle (great quality bottle) came wrapped in safety plastic with a safety seal under the lid. None of the softgels are stuck together, there is an odor of flaxseed when the bottle is opened, smells earthy. The softgels are easy to take despite the large size and I did not have any stomach upset. Happy the item is listed as organic. “Other Ingredients” listed besides organic flaxseed oil are: Capsule (gelatin), Glycerin and purified water.

Easy to Swallow
These flaxseed capsules are a pretty easy to swallow and the size is just around an inch long and they’re in a gel cap. The bottle states they’re organic, cold-pressed, and hexane free. There are myriad potential health benefits available via a flaxseed supplement and I recommend speaking with your physician(s) to see if it’s right for you — mine said I’d be fine.

USA manufactured Organic cold pressed organic flaxseed oil capsules
Omega 3 fatty acids are regarded to have health benefits for many people. While fish oil has EPA and DHA, flaxseed mostly contains the essential fatty acid ALA. It’s always wise to consult with your doctor before starting any supplement and to determine which of these would be most suitable. One of the biggest problem with oils can be their stability and shelf life. Flaxseed is notorious for having a short shelf life even if you take precautions like storing it in the fridge and always protecting it from light in an opaque dark container. Furthermore, cold pressing the oil as Anabolic Laboratories does for this product helps reduce rancidity and prolong shelf life. Since this is made from organic flaxseeds, no chemical solvents like hexane are used to extract the oils. While this is a more expensive process, I believe it results in a healthier and higher quality product. The dark glass bottle contains 180 softgels, with a recommendation to take 1 daily. The bottle was double quality sealed and has 2 years of shelf life remaining. The smell of the bottle is a bit strong and slightly fishy, but the oil appears to be clear. I’m on the fence as to whether the capsules are ok or not vs starting to go bad because flaxseed oil can have a strong smell. The oil is encased in gelatin softgels and the capsules themselves have some faint cloudy white areas in places. I punctured some of the capsules and tasted the oil itself, and it is slightly bitter. This can mean it is starting to oxidize, but it was not overpoweringly bitter either. I have a sensitive stomach, but haven’t experienced any digestive issues from taking them as one might if they were spoiling. Given how hard it is to keep flaxseed oil fresh, and my testing results, I think it is a quality product that is beneficial for me to consume. However, if you have trouble with strong smells, this product isn’t for you and flaxseed oil in general may not be your best bet either.

Expired Bottle
These seem like good Flaxseed Oil softgels, but it’s kind of disappointing that they sent me an expired bottle. It’s just by a few months so I’ll go ahead and still take them. I do know this can happen, especially when they are shipped from one company to another, so I’m not too worried about it.From what the Amazon page tells about the company who makes these, I’m very impressed, as the company “Anabolic Laboratories” has been providing nutritional products for over 100 years. That tells me they are a quality company, or they wouldn’t still be around. The supplements are made in their NPA and FDA inspected labs, in the USA.These Flaxseed Oil gelcaps are organic and rich in essential fatty acids that support the body and brain. These are made without artificial flavors, colors, additives, fillers or binders, and are tested for quality control.I feel this is a trusted company and would recommend this Flaxseed Oil supplement.
