    too big to swallow

    This pills are flavorless and odorless. They are way bigger than I expected. Not as easy to swallow as I hoped. I haven’t noticed any energy level increase. They are well made but I don’t think I would buy them again, they are expensive and too big.

    Excellent quality and effective supplement

    This Acetyl-Glutathione supplement from Amy Meyers, MD is an excellent quality, highly bioavailable form of Glutathione. This supplement also contains additional vitamins to help enhance optimal absorption. The capsules are average-sized, tasteless, and easy to swallow. I have not experienced any digestive issues or other unwanted side effects. After a month of using this supplement, my hair, nails, and skin appeared less dry and brittle, with a healthy sheen. This is not an inexpensive supplement. However, the positive effects I have had were noticeable and noteworthy.

    A More Absorbable Form Of Glutathione

    I’ve tried glutathione products in the past, but glutathione is notorious for being poorly absorbed in the intestines. However, this one is in the form of acetyl glutathione, which is apparently more stable and better absorbed. The acetyl group protects the glutathione molecule from degradation in the digestive tract, while the Vitamins E & C further prevent degradation in the intestines by regenerating the glutathione and neutralizing free radicals.Overall the design of this product is to supports liver detoxification and enhance immune response. The pills are not small (I’d say somewhere between medium and large sized) but I did not find them hard to swallow.This seems like a good, well-thought-out product, and I wish I had more than 30 pills (one per day) because I imagine it probably takes a good 6-8 weeks to feel the most benefits. I recently had a few weeks of poor digestion and low energy (possibly from something I ate, or from over-eating) and thought this would help. I have recovered from that by using this and some gentian root tincture. I have a feeling that continuing with this would yield more benefits over time.As this is a fairly pricey product, I not sure yet if I plan to continue with it but I may, as I believe in glutathione’s value for overall health. I have tried a few Amy Myers MD products and regularly use her Complete Enzymes product.

    Simple bottle, easy routine, premium price tag

    I’ve only used this briefly so far, mostly in the morning with breakfast, and the first thing I noticed was that it didn’t come with much friction. The capsules are easy enough to take, and I didn’t get any weird taste or stomach irritation afterward. That’s usually my first checkpoint with a supplement like this.The bottle is small, which I expected from the count, but it still feels a little blink-and-it’s-gone once you have it in hand. It does feel neatly put together, though. No filler vibe, no messy branding, just pretty straightforward.Where I hesitate is the cost for a 30-count bottle. That makes every capsule feel a little too precious. I like how easy it’s been to use, but this is definitely in the category where you notice what you’re paying.

    Protect yourself from free radicals!

    Glutathione is a potent and important antioxidant/free radial scavenger that is produced naturally in the body. Glutathione levels diminish with age, so taking a quality supplement such as the Amy Myers’s MD is a good idea. Acetyl-glutathione is a form that survives the gastric acidic environment to allow glutathione to be absorbed. The gelatin capsule has no offensive taste or odor and is easy to take. It is hard to quantify the effectiveness of any supplement as protection from free radicals and oxidants occurs below our level of consciousness. It is intelligently formulated with vitamins C and E, both of which have significant antioxidant and free radical scavenging functions. It is on the pricey side for everyday use, but it is not clear that this needs to be taken every day. On those days when one doesn’t get enough broccoli, spinach or avocado – the natural sources of glutathione, it is a convenient, logical and effective way to help protect your body’s cells from damage from free radicals and oxidants.

    3rd party results not published but provided

    Who can afford to blindly accept claims about the purity of wellness products we ingest? “Third party testing” has become a real marketing phrase, and I was initially disappointed because unlike more transparent wellness brands, AMMD does not publish the labs they freely advertise, and, when asked, they hid behind an NDA. (NDAs do not exist to limit lab result sharing but to protect patented formulae and property, so that seemed like bad faith. Esp when many brands give consumers DIRECT ACCESS to those results to back any assurances.)I was also disappointed to find AMMD’s support repeatedly provided me a link to a 2 year old description of a commitment to quality testing and did not offer to escalate my concerns about the claims made.However, after pressing my concerns in a negative review of that support, I was provided with what look to be recent and legitimate labs. So I feel comfortable trying their product and for the sake of this trial I have discontinued other supplements entirely.Instructions do not direct to take on an empty stomach for the sake of bioavailability and that’s another flag, because you need to do that. (And to avoid caffeine during that window.)Internal seal is great, the cotton stuffing is appreciated, and the size and consistency of the capsules is also good.I do not like the microprint on the bottle.There is oddly an aftertaste a bit like penicillin but otherwise nothing unpleasant.I have experienced some minor bloating and gas. Nothing dramatic but it’s proving consistent.The Aerobic Plate Count for this was 3/4s of the way to benchmark and that’s less than ideal for me.I will say the serving per pill, at 300mg, is pretty generous. I will revise after I have used this a few weeks.
