I rollerblade for an hour or two most mornings and usually skate to my muscles’ limits, which means soreness later. On the days I’ve taken this, my muscles are less stiff and sore in the hours after exercising.I’ve read that this form (HMB-Ca) should be taken 1-2 hours before exercise, ideally with food. The 30-minute version is HMB-FA.I opened 2 capsules to smell, taste and measure the powder and everything checks out. It tastes bitter and sour, especially in water, and has a slightly acidic pH (2 capsules in 50 mL water = pH 6). The dry powder has a slight stinky butter smell as expected from butyrate. In hot water it has a chemical smell that I can’t quite identify, maybe alkaline battery. It isn’t a solvent smell.The dosing is accurate: the contents of 2 capsules weighs 1077 mg.
