NOT Organic despite what other reviews state
I use psyllium husk primarily for baking purposes as I try to avoid gluten when possible. The back of the bag states that this product may contain wheat so be aware that there is a chance of cross contamination if you are celiac. Another thing to note contrary to other reviews, this is NOT organic. It clearly states “conventional” in the description. As for how it performs, I am not that impressed. Every recipe I have used this in has not turned out like normal. I am not sure why that is. Another use for psyllium husk is to use it for regularity which I have begun to do with this powder because I do not find it suitable for baking. It is pretty odorless and it mixes well enough into a glass of water. I mix it, take a drink, then mix it and take a drink until the glass is finished. It does get a little thick in the water and doesn’t taste the best so I just get it down quickly. I will say that it is very effective for regularity if you are able to drink it every day. It’s basically like Metamucil, but unflavored. You could of course mix it in juice to mask the taste a bit. As for price, I think it is a decent price for the amount that you receive, although I do wish it were organic.

I was skeptical but my doctor recommend i take psylliun seed husks for constipation so I ordered this and I actually really like it as a topper on my salad or sprinkled in soup. I miss it when I dont have it. It has great texture to it

365 by Whole Foods Market Psyllium Husk goes well in a breakfast smoothie and makes a good thickener for it. I love that it’s unflavored so I can have it no matter what fruit I choose to use. It’s highly effective and controls my appetite in the late morning. I’ve had no side effects. The color is a tannish color. I think it’s a great value and I will continue buying it.

This is whole psyllium husk, that’s it. It’s also organic, so that’s a plus. I use whole and ground psyllium husk differently. Whole I will mix into water and drink for fiber. Ground I will use with gluten free baking.I cannot figure out why this is only for California…oh, it’s probably the Prop 65 warning they only need to show to Californians. Psyllium husk when it grows is really good at absorbing toxins from the soil. In this case the label shows lead. As a fiber in your gut it also is really good at absorbing nutrients and toxins that find their way out of your body. I was initially put off on psyllium husk for fiber when I learned about this, but I don’t think it matters if it’s just passing through your body undigested.Also on the label are allergen warnings, it may contain wheat, soy or sesame, so if you’re allergic to any of those, be aware of the potential cross contamination risk if you or anyone you prepare food for with this psyllium husk has these allergies.As a product, this does its job, it mixes easily, forms a gel as it is a thickening agent, fills you up when you drink it, tastes fairly neutral (though tastes a bit like sawdust, looks like sawdust too), and it did it’s job for me keeping me regular. Price wise, it’s on par with what you expect for this size of organic psyllium husk. The container is resealable, and it seals nicely and easily for me.
